Old music vs modern music

Current music, a simple and soulless product. Many people in the world enjoy the

hundreds of songs that are born monthly in the world, however, some great experts in the field

worldwide, assure that the music of a few decades ago far exceeds current music, with which I

agree, in fact, some dare to say that ancient music is destroying today's music. Today's music is

similar to that of a few decades ago in several aspects, however, the latter is more complete.

The reason, the meaning, the feelings and the source of inspiration in the songs have

taken an extreme turn, there is a main difference when making comparisons between the music

of a few decades and the music that is heard today, the compositions from a few decades ago

they not only had a more romantic sense, but also focused their lyrics on different feelings,

anecdotes, real life stories, which meant that each of them could be enjoyed by people of

different ages. Most of the current songs have very few lyrics and in some cases these lyrics are

somewhat controversial, however, very attractive for certain sectors of consumption, Lefevre

(2017) says that the composition of old songs makes them more genuine and that this allows

better contact with the public compared to the derogatory connotations made today. old songs

have a mixture of feelings and stories that catch the listener with beautiful poetry.

The creation of music today is like making cookies with a recipe in the box, current

consumed faster each time with respect to the songs of previous decades, this may be because

the content that most of these have is simpler or also to the great demands of a consumer

public accustomed to listening to great hits for generations, Gioia (2022) assures that new

songs have easily lost popularity, "Never before in history have new songs achieved success

status generating so little culture impact. In fact, the audience seems to be embracing the hits of

past decades." The majority of the consuming public of the music industry in the world continues

to listen to hits that marked history even decades before these people were born, which means

that old musical hits have a greater appeal for audiences of different ages in the world. world,

this is known by the big record companies, who have invested large sums in old songs to get

revenue from them. The success of the current songs is leaks.

When analyzing this information, it can be seen that the music of a few decades ago

tends to be more striking in the majority of the public, since it has better content, due to it is

lyrics and its different rhythms, it can be enjoyed by people of all kinds of backgrounds. age, it is

popularity also lasts longer over time, this allows it to be more recognized, remembered and

enjoyed by several generations, on the other hand, current music is usually very engaging, it is

catchy and fun and is more aimed at a young audience, which enjoys this type of music much

more, however it is popularity is usually shorter or less lasting over time, even when they have a

very positive initial impact at the time of its release, it is suggested that at new songs add better

content to their lyrics, so that they are suitable for all audiences, and that they are created with

the purpose of lasting over time, not just for commercial purposes.

In conclusion, despite the fact that there are many successful songs in today's music

and that they have a great impact on a large part of listeners in the world, most of these tend to

be more of a commercial product, since they lack content, feeling and soul, in the voice of many

experts, the model and structure of old songs tend to be much more appealing to the ears of

music consumers, although there are certain similarities between old and current music, the first

of these has better components .
