TIPS ON PREPARATION A REPORT ON A VIDEO/DOCUMENTARY

1. Watch the video and focus on watching:

• Find the video/documentary specifically discusses on the local and global current
issues and ethics in finance. Start to watch the video. If you didn’t understand it at
the first time, watch it again until you find the main point that the
video/documentary wants to highlight.

2. Get down to answer to the questions:

• Try to identify “what, where, when, why and how” from the synopsis of the video
or documentary. These would be the bare bones to write a quick rundown. This is
the main paragraph of it which would give readers a quick overview of what the
video is about. Thus, be able to get the important details to answer these questions.

3. Write down notes while watching:

• Write down the main points presented in the video. You may also write keywords
or clue words, which will remind you about the essentials presented in the video.
Once you have the point notes down, begin expanding on those points. It is best
that at this stage you write from your memory of the work. This will ensure that
you are using your own words.

4. Organize the material:

• Start with the video report writing using a clear identification of the work. Identify
the background information, including the main point, title and author. Present the
summary of the video in a neutral fashion.

5. Write in concise manner:

• The video summaries must be short and to the point. You may refers any references
or materials to support on the writing of the contents (e.g.: literature review related
to the issues, theories, etc.). Conclude the overview with the main point discussed.

6. Review your work:

• Check for information accuracy. Be ready to revise when needed.

7. Find your mistakes:

• Look for spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes

8. Be punctual:

• Submit before the deadline.

• Findings from the video/documentary

• Comments and Recommendations

It is important that all guesstimates or creative ideas be founded upon some economic
rationale.

Conclusion

Make a conclusion based on what the video/documentary is about with your own words.

References

It is recommended that your source business journals, periodicals, and textual references as
well as any online research. Make sure you support your ideas with facts and figures.

Please try to use your own words and ideas based on research rather than copy and paste other’s
words from the internet.

You should use APA style in-line citations, image source citations, and an alphabetical

CITATION LIST in a references section.

Appendices

All charts, financials, visuals, and other related items can be placed here and referenced in the
report.
