Writing a research proposal is an important skill that every researcher should have. A good research
proposal outlines the research project's objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes. It helps the
researcher to organize their thoughts and ideas and to get feedback from peers and mentors. Here are
some instructions for writing a research proposal:

• Understand the purpose of the research proposal: A research proposal is a document that outlines
the research project that a student plans to undertake. It serves as a roadmap for the research and
helps the student to organize their thoughts and ideas. The proposal should clearly explain the
research question, methodology, and expected outcomes.

• Choose a research topic: The first step in writing a research proposal is to choose a research topic
that is of interest to the student. The topic should be relevant to the student's field of study and
should have the potential to contribute to the existing body of knowledge.
 • Conduct a literature review: The next step is to conduct a literature review to identify the existing
research on the chosen topic. This will help the student to identify gaps in the literature and to
formulate research questions.

• Develop research questions and objectives: The research questions and objectives should be
clearly defined and specific. The research questions should be focused on addressing the research
problem, and the objectives should provide a clear roadmap for achieving the research aims.

• Choose a research methodology: The research methodology should be appropriate for addressing
the research questions and objectives. The methodology should be clearly described, and the
researcher should explain how they plan to collect and analyze data.

• Develop a research plan: The research plan should outline the timeline for the research project
and identify the key milestones and deliverables. The plan should also include a budget and
details of any necessary resources, such as equipment, software, or participants.

• Write the proposal: The proposal should be written in a clear and concise manner, using
appropriate language and formatting. The proposal should include an introduction, literature
review, research questions and objectives, methodology, research plan, and expected outcomes.

• Revise and edit the proposal: The proposal should be revised and edited to ensure that it meets the
requirements of the assignment. The proposal should be free of grammatical errors, and
formatting should adhere to the guidelines provided by the instructor.

• Seek feedback: The researcher should seek feedback from peers and mentors to improve the

The assignment submission file should be in MS Word format.

Submission date for the assignment is 12/04/2023 during class as well as on CMS. No late assignments
will be entertained at all. Please make sure to bring the assignments in class on 12/04/2023.

Follow the deadline, failing which shall result in zero marks.
