PHAN DINH PHUNG STREET - BA DINH

- HA NOI
Phan Dinh Phung - the street that I love
Ha Noi is a place that holds a special corner of my heart. This city is a place of vibrant
culture, busy streets, and a rich history that is woven into every aspect of daily life. In
the city that I am proud to call home, there is a street that is unlike any other and
where I find a deep connection whenever I think of it. This street is Phan Dinh Phung
street (Ba Dinh district), and with each visit, I find the city's bustling crowds and
chaotic noise seeming to fade away, replaced by a sense of peacefulness and belonging.

I am always drawn to Phan Dinh Phung street, especially in the fall when the big old
dracontomelon trees on the pavement create a canopy of golden leaves. The cool
breeze, gentle sunshine, and sound of the leaves rustling underfoot are the perfect
retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Moreover, as I stroll down this street, my
senses are immediately captivated by the traces of history that surround me. There are
charming villas with elegant French architecture, each one telling its own story of
times gone by, and then there is the Cua Bac Catholic Church, a stunning blend of
French architecture and Asian familiarity. I can't help but be drawn to the majestic
Cua Bac citadel, a true marvel of ancient vestiges that have stood the test of time.

Not only the beautiful scenery, but the appearance of people on Phan Dinh Phung
street also makes me feel moved. I feel proud when I see tourists admiring the ancient
architecture on the street. I am delighted to see the radiant faces of the people who
come to this street to take pictures of the stunning scenery. Furthermore, the street
has a very wide sidewalk, so seeing students playing on it is normal when visiting. They
remind me of my childhood when I also had fun playing in the small street in front of
my house. Besides, the motorbikes and bicycles selling flowers along the pavement
always make my heart tremble and melt. There is a gentle, poetic, vibrant, and bright
aura emanating from the bikes carrying full loads of flowers parked under an old tree
amidst the streets. There is an interesting thing on this street that I am sure is not
found anywhere else. At the beginning of summer, it is easy to see a few people selling
dracontomelon fruit on the sidewalk. Last year I bought a bag of dracontomelon fruits
there to bring back to my mother to soak in sugar; it was only a few pounds, but I
could use them to make a fresh drink for a whole year. I still remember buying them
from a very friendly lady; she gave me a handful of fruits before I left.

Phan Dinh Phung Street is a special place that always fills me with a sense of happiness
and belonging. It is a true treasure of my city and a place that I will always cherish.
