Public Services Task 1a- The skeletal System Aims and Objectives You must understand the position

n of the major bones in the body. You must understand the differences between the axial and appendicular skeleton and give examples of both. Also you must be able to think of an example when this type of bone fulfils its use when working in the public services You must be able to name the 4 types of bone i.e. long, short flat and irregular. You must be able to give examples of each of these. You must be able to explain the major functions of the skeletal system i.e. Protection, support, shape, blood production, movement. You must be able to give examples relating to public services for each of the functions You must have a basic understanding of the structure of an individual bone and the functions of the different areas How will the assessment take place? Each of you will be called into the room one by one Your will be given a skeleton to place the stickers onto or asked verbally to point out specific bones Once completed you will then be asked a series of questions relating to the information given above Each question should be answered in as much detail as possible If you feel you cannot answer a question just ask to move on! You will not only be assessed on your knowledge but how you can apply examples to public services
