Strategy Assessment

WHAT YOU’RE DOING SUPER WELL

Lots of samples, consistent style, pro verified, level two, fast replies, solid reviews, good SEO
setup

TARGET AUDIENCE

 small/medium size industrial companies. (Oil contractors, constructors, technology, energy)

Build a set of gigs that matches what they need and want. They should see themselves (their
needs, style, goals, budget, timeline, priorities, etc.) reflected in everything that you do and
offer.

EXAMPLE Who -- I want to work with Matt – he’s the founder of a US-based solar installation
company that is in the startup phase. Their brand style is bright, bubbly, and personal.

EXAMPLE Wants -- His top priorities are investing in long-term content assets, the ability to
take on lots of work over a long period, and streamlining collaboration across team members.

EXAMPLE Needs -- He’s currently hiring for logo animation, video ads, interview editing for
promos, explainer videos, short commercials, and gifs for website and socials.

GIGS & SERVICES

I recommend 5-7 gigs that work cohesively as a set. Why?

- Showcase the range of your skills (most professional people aren’t good at only one
thing)

- Improve chance of ranking more quickly within search (throwing more darts at the dart
board, in more categories)

- It makes the ordering process easier/more intuitive for your clients. You want as little
overlap between gigs as possible.

- Cross-sell services to existing clients: plan a ‘pipeline’ that meets their needs over time

Right now, you’re kind of selling the same service to multiple industries (cinematic edit for
corporate, wedding, real estate, musicians) VS creating a set of gigs that all target your dream
client’s multiple needs.

1) What cheap hook or enticing, entry-level offer that has instant value for them right
now? The impulse buy that will encourage them to try you out and see if it’s a good fit.

2) What primary/big service do they need from you first? (After they’ve seen the quality
of your work and what you can do.)

3) What’s the next thing you can offer as support to increase chances of success? Like
‘phase two’ of their launch/scaling plan.

4) What did you educate them on that they now realize they need from you?

SEO & SETUP (GETTING IMPRESSIONS)

Timing

It’s not a perfect science or sure-fire answer, but keep in mind that inflation and general
instability may be affecting budgets of high-paying clients. And late summer tends to be a little
slower, I’ve seen.

Title

I’ve been told that your title is the most important place for keywords. So it might be a little
awkward, but if the top search term is ‘edit wedding video,’ for example, then it would be
better to say I will edit wedding video footage with a dreamy style vs. I will edit a high end
cinematic wedding video

Try to be specific and purposeful about your adjectives. Choose words that will POP and
resonate with the target client. What ‘tone’ descriptor are they going to be searching for?
Predict and match that.

Search Tags

(Even if they don’t have a drop-down/auto-fill option for the tag, you can still just type it in and
click enter to add the tag you want.)

With your search tags, make sure that you’re not accidentally choosing general tags that
overlap with other categories. I.e.,

Maybe try: promo video, promo editor, corporate video editor, post production
Carrieblogger, Author My links: Fiverr | YouTube | Novel | Portfolio | Copywriting Course

Sprinkle keywords throught your entire listing – trying to hit as many targets and variations as
possible (like corporate videos vs corporate video, promotional video vs promo video)

Just by playing around with Fiverr Search auto-fill in a private browser, you can get some more
information about the types of keywords and related search terms that are common that you
might be missing.

Example, your wedding edit gig is missing two auto-fill search terms:

video editing wedding AND edit wedding video

Description

I noticed that some things in your description are outdated, so take another look to check for
mistakes, like:

Two small tweaks and tips:

1) Make sure that you’re writing to the target audience. Do most of your orders for this gig
come from individual brides/grooms? Or are they videographers who want to outsource
editing and get help?
a. And a small mistake here. Proofread 

2) Always try to avoid language that sounds negative. Instead, describe what you WILL do.

FAQ

Aim for 5-7 questions that balance literal explanations (how do revisions work?) and self-
promotion (how many years of experience do you have?)

Include keywords in the questions/answers in an organic way. I.e., Yes, I can add motion
graphics to your corporate video edit…

Seems like some of the FAQs lead to more questions. Like below – do you work with a team?
Do you record the VO yourself? Etc.

2 PDFs

Ideas:

- what it’s like to work with me

- roadmap of the project experience

(Like I did on this gig.)

- bio/about page
- list of previous clients
- quantifiable accomplishments and stats about work you’ve done
- pricing/gig extras flyer

Look at how I’ve formatted the first page of my PDF to clearly invite them to click, scroll, and
know what they’re looking at. Portfolio samples must be insanely easy to access anywhere you
look. Hand them everything they need to know on a silver platter.

FYI -- Note about a portfolio site… Sharing links/resources on Fiverr is tricky. You can’t link to
any websites that have your contact information. This is the list of approved links that you can
share without problems. Since you’ve built a portfolio website like I have
(http://www.carrieblogger.com/), just make sure that it ONLY links back to Fiverr. (No contact
form, email, phone number, etc.)

If the site link gets auto-flagged (after removing your contact form), just tell CS that you’re not
breaking TOS and they’ll put it right back, no problem.

Also, you should definitely sign up for Fiverr Affiliates. If you direct a new seller who makes a
new account and hires you, you can get the BYOB (bring your own buyer) 20% Fiverr fee paid
back to you in your affiliate account. And you might get some coins kicked your way for any
clicks/traffic/signups – might as well, especially if you’re trying to cold pitch via email. This is my
link to sign up -- https://go.fiverr.com/visit/?

Seller Bio

Start your description by speaking to the target client, rather than jumping right in with
information about yourself. Consumers are selfish, so they inherently care most about how
you’ll help them and if they’re even the right target for who should be reading it.
Carrieblogger, Author My links: Fiverr | YouTube | Novel | Portfolio | Copywriting Course

In your current draft, you never speak to them directly or ‘invite’ them into working with you.

I recommend not including line breaks in your seller bio/description because they look funny
(like spacing mistakes) in different parts of the site.

Seller Page Skills List

The skills list is a reverse search engine. Yours looks great!

VISUAL STRATEGY

Photos

For your category, putting your face on the gig image isn’t super popular or common BUT that
might help you stand out and get more clicks. Maybe.

As you know, the first photo is your gig card that shows up as the primary image in search. OR
the thumbnail from the video, in your case.
Carrieblogger, Author My links: Fiverr | YouTube | Novel | Portfolio | Copywriting Course

In search, buyers can use through the carousel to see your other images even before they
choose to click on your gig – very important for converting impressions into clicks

I DO, however, strongly recommend adding text to explain who you are, what you offer, what
makes it unique.

Brighter, thicker, clearer, bigger -- simple, ultra-clean, impactful text works best

Make sure to bring the text in a little close to center so that it doesn’t get cut off (Fiverr’s layout
is weird.)

Your gigs should function as a cohesive set BUT it should still be easy to tell them apart with a
single glance.

Colors

Pick colors that are distinctly different than what other competitors are doing, so the eye is
drawn to you in search.
Carrieblogger, Author My links: Fiverr | YouTube | Novel | Portfolio | Copywriting Course

Coolors.co is really helpful to brainstorm and fine-tune a color palette that fits your vibe.

Video

I recommend including a short video with yourself talking – even if that’s just “Hi, I’m ____,
your new video editor and these are some examples of my work” with a wave, and then skip to
voiceover for the rest of the video. That instantly proves who you are and adds SO MUCH
TRUST.

Make sure to include a picture of your gig image card at the end of the video so that you can set
it as the freezeframe.

Client Samples

It’s hard to show examples of your packages in video format… you might experiment with
uploading a specific portfolio sample in the delivery that is marked with something like:

‘Real client sample: basic package + motion graphics + voiceover + stock music’

That way, the samples don’t only show your work itself, but also help clients understand the
pricing breakdown and see/define gig extras in action.

PRICING

Start by anticipating the needs/budget of your target audience and create packages that match
their price point

THEN play around with the budget min/max tool to find where there’s a ‘break’ in pricing with
less competition.

You’re currently showing up in the upper Fiverr Choice pricing bracket! If you want to be a little
more competitive on price to try to drum up business, looks like you could drop a bit and still be
well-positioned in the highest price category. (Which, according to this, breaks at $260)
