Graphene-single layer of carbon, arranged in honeycomb structures, stronger than steel

Development of Graphene: 1.
Graphene was first isolated in 2004 by some scientists at University of Manchester, England,
and the Microelectronics Technology in Chernogolovka, Russia. Basically, they used scotch
tape to slowly and carefully strip away thin layers of graphite crystals that they then
transferred to a silicon substrate (as a place setter of sorts). They even managed to piece
together these minuscule flakes and connect electrodes to it! These brilliant scientists were
the first to measure and quantify the baffling properties of graphene.

Proton number of carbon is 6

After the discovery of protons , scientists realised that the atomic number of an element is
the same as the number of protons in its nucleus . In the modern periodic table, the elements
are arranged according to their atomic number - not their relative atomic ma

6 protons
It is a group IVA element, residing between boron and nitrogen on the periodic table, and it
has 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons.

Graphene is simply one atomic layer of graphite - a layer of sp2 bonded carbon atoms
arranged in a hexagonal or honeycomb lattice. Graphite is a commonly found mineral and is
composed of many layers of graphene. The structural make-up of both graphene and
graphite, and their fabrication methods are slightly different.
