Answer the following questions:

1. Define physical disabilities and health impairments.

Physical disabilities are physical restrictions or conditions that prevent a person from using one
or more of their limbs normally, and can be acquired due to inheritance, accident, disease, or
post-surgery complications. Meanwhile, health impairments means having limited strength,
vitality, or alertness due to chronic or acute health problems can negatively impact a child's
academic performance.

2. What are the characteristics of children with health impairments and physical disabilities?

Depending on the health impairment, a student's traits may differ from those of a student with
another health impairment. Students could be weak, worn out, or hurt. Children with other health
issues typically miss more school due to illness. The following common health issues could
qualify a student as having other health impairments:

- HIV/AIDS
- Sickle-Cell Disease
- Epilepsy
- Asthma
- Cancer
- Cystic Fibrosis

The characteristics of a physical handicap will differ greatly based on the condition's nature,
degree, and afflicted bodily parts. Many of the more prevalent physical impairments include:

- Cerebral Palsy
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Spina Bifida
- Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Conditions
