1 Service Overview
Based on the intelligent scheduling system, Huawei eLab Portal enables you to access desired lab scenarios
using various types of terminals anywhere, anytime, helping you learn knowledge more efficiently. Based
on Huawei eLab Portal and with its rich experiment project delivery experience and a deep understanding
of eLab scenarios, Huawei has launched eLab service products, allowing customers to lease Huawei's lab
equipment resources and maintenance teams. With Huawei's service products, customers no longer need to
purchase or maintain lab equipment and can create more value with less investment.
Huawei eLab service products involve 17 sub-products in six technology categories. Figure 1-1 shows the
eLab product portfolio.
2 Huawei Advantages
As a leading global ICT solutions provider, Huawei has a deep understanding of products as well as how to
construct lab equipment resources that can be shared around the globe. Leveraging its own advantages,
Huawei applies products and technologies to construct an efficient and easy-to-use eLab service platform to
help customers resolve lab environment problems. Huawei eLab platform has the following advantages:
Abundant lab resources
Huawei has set up five lab resource centers and nine sub-centers around the globe, and provides more
than 3000 types of lab devices, allowing customers to use rich lab resources.
Standard lab scenarios
Experiment items on Huawei eLab Portal are designed based on course objectives and match the
training courses. In addition, lab scenarios can be customized based on customers' actual
environments.
Anytime, anywhere access
Huawei eLab Portal provides 24/7 access and supports mainstream operating systems for the clients to
access. Customers can access Huawei eLab Portal anywhere as long as the Internet is available and
carry out hands-on experiments.
Convenient operation
Huawei eLab Portal provides convenient online experiment reservation, and rapid approval allows
customers to quickly access the lab environment.
User-friendly graphical user interface (GUIs)
Huawei eLab Portal provides user-friendly GUIs for reservation, login, and experiment operation. It
provides intuitive network topology, directly presents experiment results, and provides experiment
operation guide synchronously.
Reduced customer investment
2015-12-15 Page 5 of 36
Huawei eLab Service Proposal V100R001 INTERNAL
Huawei eLab Portal helps greatly save customer investment. Customers do not need to purchase lab
equipment or maintain lab environments, and they do not need to worry about equipment replacement
or upgrade issues.
3 Service Description
When learning products and technologies, you often need to perform hands-on experiments to master
learned knowledge. To meet requirements for learning lab equipment operation and maintenance, Huawei
has launched the eLab service based on characteristics and requirements of the lab environment access.

For the software, hardware, and network environment requirements for logging in to the eLab client, see section 4.2
"Prerequisites."
When a lecture from a Huawei Authorized Learning Partner (HALP) is teaching the course, the HALP lecture is
responsible for checking and restoring the eLab environment.
4.2 Prerequisites
To ensure eLab delivery service quality, customers need to ensure that the client and network environment
for remotely accessing the eLab service meet prerequisites listed in the following table before using the
Huawei eLab services.
