Unemployment is one of the major social issues that the country is facing today. The impact of
unemployment has led to a major reason for increase in unemployment in the country.
Unemployment is a situation where a person actively searches for a job but is unable to find a
suitable job. It can be also referred to as a situation in where people are ready to do a job but is
unable to find one.

The main reason for unemployment in a country like India is due to its large population and small
economic growth. The small economic growth can be due to high interest rates, global recession and
financial crisis. The impact of unemployment will have an impact on the national economy of the
country and will also affect the living style of the people living in the country. Unemployment will
lead to financial hardships, less consumption of goods and services. It will also give rise to poverty.
People will start to find illegal activities to earn money. This will lead to increase in crime rates in the
country. The government has taken many measures to reduce the problem of unemployment. The
government has introduced many initiatives like IRDP. The government has also made rules flexible
for the companies so that employment can be created in private sector. Unemployment in India has
reached a critical stage but the government has taken many measures to control it and improve the
situation of unemployment in the country
