Agents of Tomorrow

Under the threat of a pandemic, the world faces unprecedented rapid global, economic,
social, and environmental upheavals wherein the urgency of demands in terms of medical and
technical work is essential. Every dark cloud has a silver lining, fostering and enhancing the
21st-century generation’s skills intertwined with the application of science and mathematics can
be the stepping stone unlocking the doors to innovation for the nation's youth in creating a
skilled workforce that allows the country to globally compete in the future.

As the country battles to regain and re-establish its economic footing, there is a rising
drumbeat that boosts and strengthens its people to be positive and resilient. The bottle flies
banging against the door of the society. While there are still COVID-19 cases on the other side of
the seesaw, eager-beaver scientists and experts who are on the quest looking for the long-awaited
vaccine eventually see the fruits of their scientific studies or clinical trials as a response to
control and prevent future recurrences of a similar problem. Solving a crisis like this is a
multifaceted scientific endeavor by the use of mathematical models for guiding policies and
analyzing data to flatten the curve of the cases.

In today's ever-changing complex world, learners with mathematical expertise are in

high demand in a wide range of industries, including IT (information technology) related
businesses, pharmaceuticals, insurance, finances, electronics, and automobiles. Moreover, our
youth must be equipped such as problem-solving, constructing the meaning of critical
information, and being able to acquire and evaluate evidence to make appropriate decisions —
these are the sorts of abilities that students learn in Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM).

In line with this, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the kindling of a fire,” poet
William Butler Yeats remarked. The youth should be immersed in science and math for more
than just educational reasons. Instead, understanding this should spark students' interest and
serve as a platform for them to pursue more challenging and professional opportunities, in
addition to providing the necessary technical skills. Thus, it is more than simply textbooks,
studies, experimenting, and readings; it is a revolutionary way of viewing the world. Initial
engagement to this may ignite a flame in a student's mind leading them to pursue this journey
through college and into the modern workplace.

Furthermore, the Department of Education (DepEd) establishes these various academic

tracks and strands, particularly STEM, in honing young minds to create a solid foundation of
learning as our country embarks on a holistic process of thinking about sustainable development
and forging a vision and strategy to cope with the times. Besides this, constructing learners'
competencies, information literacy, and proficiency in STEM disciplines is critical if we want a
society in which our future leaders, neighbors, and employees can fully comprehend and solve
some of today's and future difficult issues, as well as meet the needs of a dynamic and
developing workforce. Therefore, we must eliminate anything that negatively impacts STEM
education but rather encourage young people to remain engaged and see the world as a massive
laboratory with limitless potential and opportunities.

to harness the potential of innovation to support in the achievement of key public policy
goals
Strong political leadership at the highest levels will be required.
There is no silver bullet: policymakers will need a combination of policies for innovation
that will differ depending on the situation and must go beyond narrowly defined research and
innovation programs.
Governments may create more innovative, productive, and affluent nations, as well as
improve well-being and strengthen the global economy, by focusing their policies on five specific
areas:
In envisioning a future in which all students would have access to such possibilities, the
MSEB recognizes the critical role of formulas and algorithms, arguing that algorithmic abilities
are more flexible, powerful, and long-lasting when they are derived from a position of meaning
and understanding. The concept of this book is that all students may acquire mathematical
knowledge by working with mathematical challenges from the workplace and everyday life. The
articles in this report give some justification for this premise and address some of the difficulties
and concerns that arise as a result. The exercises in this study highlight some of the
opportunities given by the workplace and daily life.
it's more important than ever that our nation's youth are prepared to bring knowledge
and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know-how to gather and evaluate
evidence to make decisions. These are the kinds of skills that students develop in science,
technology, engineering, and math, including computer science—disciplines collectively known
as STEM/CS. If we want a nation where our future leaders, neighbors, and workers can
understand and solve some of the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, and meet the
demands of the dynamic and evolving workforce, building students' skills, content knowledge,
and literacy in STEM fields is essential. We must also make sure that no matter where children
live, they have access to quality learning environments. A child's zip code should not determine
their STEM literacy and educational options
it is crucial to prepare students and teachers with the concepts, information, and
resources they need to overcome these obstacles. As a result, a thorough understanding of
recognizing, analyzing, and observing local ecosystems is required. Bringing this deep learning
into the domain of solutions necessitates an integrated learning strategy that depends on creative
thinking and strategizing to solve issues flexibly, envisage, and envision

in creating new jobs, businesses, and services, and developing new knowledge, insights,
ideas, techniques, strategies, and solutions, and applying them to problems both old and new is
crucial.

By developing a shared collective level of passion and enthusiasm that embraces

scientific discovery or mathematical progress, we can establish a foundation for effectively
confronting today and tomorrow's major issues. As the inheritors of our world, young people
must lead the fight for sustainable development.
Young people may bring about generational progress by using their enthusiasm,
creativity, passion, and idealism to confront the existing quo and guarantee a brighter future.
In an increasingly complicated global governance system, young people may help
establish a new paradigm based on information sharing, cross-border cooperation, and
prioritizing concerns such as severe poverty, environmental degradation, and inequality.

is also imperative to formulate sustainable roadmaps on selected disruptive technologies that will
be useful in the near future and, at the same time, will not pose risks to future generations.

To meet the challenges of the 21st century, students need to be empowered and feelthat they can

future Creating new value means innovating to shape better lives, such as creating new jobs,
businesses and services, and developing new knowledge, insights, ideas, techniques, strategies
and solutions, and applying them to problems both old and new. When learners create new value,
they question the status quo, collaborate with others and try to think “outside the box”.
To put it another way, fostering innovation is more than merely increasing the amount or quality
of math and science education. It is necessary to rethink how we approach and teach all of our
disciplines, from liberal arts to Math and Science Unite: Innovating the Future and

math, science, and engineering. And it entails emphasizing how to connect various domains of
knowledge and think in flexible, integrative, and creative ways as much as we do the subject
matter itself.

CONCLUSION:
We can construct and preserve a world in which inventing and exploring become
learning, a world in which scientific and technological concepts and models serve as the building
blocks for the next generation of global innovators— they have the passion and determination to
fuel a positive outlook. As the steward of the future, we are the bridge This learning of various
