IF WE SAY LEGENDS ON SCREEN…. : WHO DO YOU THINK OF?

1) What kind of document is it?

It’s a photograph of a young woman who looks like Marilyn Monroe.
2) Who is this woman?
She was a famous American actress.

3) You are going to listen to a document ………..What can you imagine about this
document?

4) Who speaks ?
Three persons: the person asking the question and a young woman and a young man answering
it.
5) What is it about?
It’s about the legends of cinema (= on screen).

6) What is the link between the picture and the interview?

The link is the fact that the young woman speaks about Marilyn Monroe.

7) Why have they chosen Marilyn MONROE and Humphrey BOGART?

The woman has chosen Marilyn MONROE because everybody knows her and because she is a
very famous actress. When you see a picture of Marilyn you immediately recognise her. And
she has chosen Marilyn because this actress died when she was very young (she was 36 years
old) . And also because the black and white films she starred in were striking.

The man has chosen Humphrey BOGART because he starred in « Casablanca » and for the
great lines he said in this film. And also because he says that Humphrey is the essence of cool.
