Hair Transplant

Information and requirements from the patient at the first place

1. Well-focused photos from the front, right, left, back and top at a distance of about
40 cm with a white background. (Dark background for patients with white hair.)
2. Age, profession, workplace atmosphere, country (weather conditions.)
3. Chronic diseases, medications in use, previous operations, previous hair
transplant (year - place - technique - number of grafts).
4. Allergies, if any.

It's requested to send six photos as shown in the figure.

Things to take into consideration before visiting Turkey

● The flight ticket should include baggage because the patient will be given
products more than 100 ml that are not allowed to the cabin of the aircraft.
● Required stay is at least 3 nights.
● Be prepared to have all the hair shaved.
● Avoid consuming alcohol and drugs one week before the operation.
● Limit cigarettes and drinks containing caffeine (green tea, coffee, redbull, etc.)

Patient's first meeting:

● Greetings and introduction. 
● Health assessment and hair evaluation. 
● Discussion of hair transplant conveniency, technique, approximate number of
grafts, number of sessions required, percentage of success.
● Determining the front and back lines of the transplant area.
● Clarifying the possible success and the reasons behind it. 
● Explaining the stages of the operation.
● Description of the hair growth process (shock shedding, when the hair starts to
grow, when all the transplants come out, etc.)
Before Arriving to the Clinic on the Operation Day
● Have a meal fortified with sugary food.
● Put on a fully buttoned shirt or an outfit with a zipper that opens fully in the front.
● Bring along with you the medications in use, if any.

Operation Day:
1. Examination and blood pressure measurement.
2. Hairline determination and approval.
3. Blood withdrawal for typical tests (HBV,HCV,HIV) and PRP application.
4. Hair shaving.
5. Local anesthesia and serum application to the donor area ( may be a little painful,
but the patient will not feel anything afterwards.)
6. Hair follicle harvesting procedure.
7. Follicle collection and counting.
8. Lunch break.
9. Channel opening or DHI implant application.
10. Patient education about the first 10-day instructions.

After the operation:

● First hair wash will be done. (To be repeated for the first 9 days)
● On the 10th day, a specific washing video and education will be provided.
● Regular photos will be requested, questions and concerns will be answered with
care, a doctor will be consulted in case of distress.
● Shock shedding and regrowth processes of hair will be explained again.

After hair transplant care:

● Sleeping with the head elevated on pillows for the first 10 days.
● Avoiding scratching and rubbing the head.
● Maintaining adequate hydration.
● Avoiding strenuous exercise for the first week after hair transplantation.
● Limiting oily and spicy food.
● Completing the antibiotic course.
● Being gentle when washing the hair for the first 10 days (avoid scrubbing and
blast the water stream directly onto the scalp.)
● Paying attention when getting into and out of transportation vehicles
● Avoiding rain, direct sun and sweating.
● Avoiding wearing hats and caps for the first 10 days.
● Limit smoking and consuming alcohol for about 5 days after the operation.

Note for Beard transplant patients

● In case of dental treatment, Beard transplant can only be done after completing
the dental treatment totally.
● Masks should be avoided for the first two weeks after the operation.
