 Our Background
Bangladesh Army has always played a leading role in all activities related to the development, progress and security of the
country. Members of the Armed forces and paramilitary are often engaged in risky and dangerous missions both at home
and overseas. During these missions many are seriously injured and sometimes even die while on duty. The conventional life
insurance system has certain limitations regarding insuring members involved in these risky activities, leaving the future
security of them and their families largely uncertain.
For overcoming this situation, the Hon'ble Prime Minister has given responsibility to Bangladesh Army by approving
the establishment of Astha Life Insurance Company Limited to provide financial security to all members of the Armed
force and paramilitary along with their families and reviving the potentialities of the country’s promising insurance sector
by becoming an exemplary role model.
Astha Life Insurance Company Limited wishes to bring all the citizens of Bangladesh under the life insurance safety
matrix and ensure the financial security and mitigate future risks of its policy holders and their families. Apart from
that Astha Life Insurance Company Limited also bears a vision to achieve standard in all practices and bring about a
positive change in the insurance industry of Bangladesh with its fully digitalized operation, latest technology
adaptation, innovative products and trusted services.
 Who We Are

Astha Life, a new venture of Army Welfare Trust (AWT), has been inaugurated by the
respected Chief of Bangladesh Army staff on 23rd June, 2020 and started its formal
business journey from the same day.
For the first time in Bangladesh, Astha Life is offering life insurance services to
Armed Forces and paramilitary personnel including BGB, Coast Guard, Police,
RAB, Ansar and Fire Brigade along with their family members as well as to the
general people of Bangladesh.
The company first obtained approval in principle (AIP) from Hon'ble Prime Minister ,
then got registration from the IDRA on 30th Sep 2019.
