GEN 3.1 AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION SERVICES (AIS)
1. Responsible service
1.1 The DGCA ensures the flow of aeronautical data and information necessary for the safety,
regularity, and efficiency of international and national air navigation within area of its
responsibility as indicated under paragraph 2 below.
The Aeronautical information services (AIS) provide Aeronautical Publication, NOTAM Service
and Aerodrome AIS which are provided by AIS Headquarter, International NOTAM Office
(NOF) and Aerodrome AIS unit.

2. Area of responsibility
The Aeronautical Information Service is responsible for the collection, evaluation and dissemination of
information for the entire territory of Ujung Pandang FIR and Jakarta FIR.
3. Aeronautical publications
3.1 Aeronautical information is provided in the form of the Aeronautical Information
Product consisting of the following elements:
- Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP);
- Amendment service to the AIP;
- Supplement to the AIP ;
- NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB);
- Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC); and
- Checklist and List of Valid NOTAM.
Each NOTAM is assigned by four digit serial number preceded by an appropriate letter
indicating the series and followed by a stroke and two digits indicating the year of issuance.
The serial numbers start with 0001 at 0000 UTC on January every year. A checklist of
NOTAM in force sent by air mail to those who had originally received the NOTAM over the
AFS, as well as to others on request.
NOTAM and the related monthly checklist are issued via the Aeronautical Fixed Service
(AFS).
NOTAM are exchanged between Indonesia NOF and other International NOFs as described
below :
4. AIRAC System
Operationally significant changes to the AIP, will be issued on predetermined dates according to the
AIRAC system, will be published as an AIRAC AMDT or AIRAC AIP SUP. AIRAC information will be
issued so that the information will be received by the user not later than 28 days, and for major changes
not later than 56 days, before the effective date.
When AIP Amendments or AIP Supplements are issued in accordance with AIRAC system, a trigger
NOTAM will be issued giving a brief description of the contents, effective date and reference number of
the AIRAC AIP AMDT or AIRAC AIP SUP. When raw data/information has not been submitted by the
AIRAC cut-off date, a NIL notification shall be originated and distributed by NOTAM.
The AIRAC cycle date occurring in the 28-day period from 21 December to 17 January inclusive not be
used for AIRAC effective dates for the introduction of significant operational changes.
