Environment RSLogix 5000 © Studio 5000 Logix Designer Answer This describes how to create the correct path for a MSG instruction from a ControlLogix processor to another ControlLogix processor using Ethernet with two Ethernet cards (for example 1758-ENBI). The controller that initiates the message has the following path (separated by commas, no spaces): 1,51, 2, xxx. yyy.22z.www, 1,52 Where: * 1is the backplane for the first chassis (the ControlLogix backplane always uses 1) © Slis the slot of the 1756-ENBT in the first chassis (the first position on the left is 0, second |...) © 2is to go through the front port on to the Ethernet (always 2) © Xxx.yyy.2zz.www is the IP address of the 1756-ENBT in the second chassis © 1is the backplane for the second chassis (always 1 for ControlLogix) © §2is the slot of the ControlLogix in the second chassis (starting from left the first position is 0, second 1...) Example: 13,2,192.168.1.4,,0 No getting online with controller, it does not have to be) it can be browsed to while building the communication the Ethernet Module is in the 1/0 tree ( not necessarily, for the purpose of message communication or path. The module name will replace the 1,81 part of the communication path. Attachments Was this answer helpful?
