Healthcare providers should listen to the patients more than heavily rely on technology
tests. When the healthcare workers listen to the patient attentively, they can have a better
understanding of the patients’ background which lead to the broader prospective on the
situations. There are many treatments to apply for cases, to listen deeply and have more allows
the physicians to see more possibilities of the cases. The understanding can also help guide what
tests are appropriate in which the treatment become more cost-effective. In addition, sometimes
healthcare workers only listen and look for the information they expect, listen deeply with open-
minded contributes to the clear and effective care plan. Instead of spending a large amount of
time and resources, some tests can be eradicated if the doctors and nurses gather the information
from truly listening to the patients. They can provide the clearer and more effective care.
Although many people believe that tests are more accurate and reliable, listening creates
emotional connection which tests are unable to provide that. According to DasGupta (2013),
“being seen, being heard, and being made to understand that we matter in the world. That is one
of our fundamental needs”, the feeling of being heard is vital to human emotions and the sense of
