Activity 1
(Three Waves of Feminism)

First wave of Feminism

- The first wave of feminism occurred in the Western world during the
nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It is about equal rights for women.
Additionally, it involves the right to vote and women's political participation.
Politics and business were completely dominated by powerful men at the
time, and society did not see women as capable as men in politics. Women
gained basic legal rights as a result of the first wave of feminism, which we
now cannot imagine life without.

Second wave of Feminism

- The second wave of feminism was more focused on social injustices. It
was able to transform women's negative and inferior image. Rape,
reproductive rights, domestic violence, and workplace safety are among the
issues addressed by this wave. Women were able to create their own
popular culture, and the feminist movement spread through feminist films,
music, books, and even establishments such as restaurants.

Third wave of Feminism

- The third wave of feminism focused on female heteronormativity and
women's reproductive rights. It valued the diversity and individuality of
women. Additionally, it was claimed that it is a continuation of the second
wave and a response to its perceived failures. They worked to address
issues brought on by sexism, racism, social class inequality, and
homophobia with a multicultural emphasis.
