DOCUMENTATION JUNE 2022

POKEMON CRYSTAL ADVANCE VERSION is a transfer of the classic Pokemon

Crystal to the GBA engine with a few additions. The ROM hack was made by Kertra, using
Pokemon FireRed as the base ROM and it was finished in Spring 2022. The graphics have
seen an incredible improvement compared to the original GBC release and overall, the
replayability has grown lots throughout Johto and Kanto.

This Documentation lists all the changes and additions found in this ROM hack. The
storyline is the same as in the original Pokemon Crystal release, so any guides from the
original game will be suitable for your playthrough.

Your very own Pokemon story is about to unfold. You’ll face fun times and tough
challenges. A world of dreams and adventures with Pokemon awaits! Let’s go!

.WONDER TRADE

Wonder Trading is the only way to obtain Pokemons from the 3rd and 4th Generation in
Pokemon Crystal Advance. It can be done at Goldenrod Casino as soon as you reach that
part of the map, but it can only be done once a day. The NPC appears everyday during
daytime only, so you cannot Wonder Trade at night.

The Pokemons you obtain via Wonder Trade will always be on their first evolution forms,
meaning you can get a Bagon, but never a Shelgon or a Salamence for example. Legendary
and Mythical Pokemon are also not available right from the start. To get a chance to obtain
them, you first need to complete the Regional Pokedex with all 251 Pokemon from Johto
and Kanto.

—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unlocking Unlimited Wonder Trade

Once you have completed the Regional Pokedex, go and talk to Prof. Oak. From now on,
Wonder Trade will no longer have a limit of one trading per day, and this will also unlock
all the Mythical and Legendary Pokemon from Generations 3 and 4.

Completing the Regional Pokedex it’s not only a matter of catching all available Pokemon
from the wild areas though. Some Pokemons are only available by trading with other
in-game NPCs, while some others will have to be bred in order to complete their evolution
families. Gotta catch ‘em all!
