PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINE THROUGH EXECUTIVE SECRETARY HONORABLE LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, TO DECLARE FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2023 AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF TARLAC FOR THE COMMEMORATION OF THE ARAW NG LALAWIGAN NG TARLAC WHEREAS, on 10 May 1999, then President Joseph Ejercito Estrada issued Proclamation No. 109, Series of 1999, declaring May 28 of each year as a special non-worl holiday in the entire Province of Tarlac, in observance of its foundation day to be designated as “Araw ng Lalawigang Tarlak”; WHEREAS, the said Proclamation was issued in line with the aspiration of the people of Tarlac to dedicate one day of each year to celebrate and relive Tarlac’s glorious past through meaningful activities; WHEREAS, through the celebration, the sociocultural, economic and civic awareness of the people of Tarlac would be more strengthened; Senadagena Panlalawigan Building (Capitol Annex), San Vicente, Tarlac City, Tarlac BREmail address : sptarac@ymail.com B-Republie of the Philippines PROVINCE OF TARLAC SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN ~Page 2 of 2 of Reso # 131-2023- WHEREAS, the commemoration of the Araw ng Lalawigan ng Tarlac, which is a special non-working holiday in the entire Province of Tarlac, falls on a Sunday for the year 2023, and to enable our people to avail of the benefits of a longer weekend, this Sanggunian hereby earnestly requests his Excellency, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. to declare Friday, 26 May, in lieu of Sunday, 28 May 2023, as a special non-working holiday, in order to allow further cultural activities of historical significance in relation to the celebration of the Araw ng Lalawigan ng Tarlac; NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion, unanimously seconded; RESOLVED, that this Sanggunian hereby requests His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, through Executive Secretary Honorable Lucas P. Bersamin, to declare Friday, May 26, 2023 as a Special Non-Working Holiday in the entire Province of Tarlac for the commemoration of the Araw ng Lalawigan ng Tarlac; RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished immediately to the Office of the President, thru the Office of the Executive Secretary, for appropriate action.
