    The administration of the British East India Company differed from Indian rulers in several key ways. The British territories were broadly divided into administrative units called presidencies, each ruled by a Governor who reported to the supreme head, the Governor General.     (i) British territories were breadly devided into administrative units called
    presidencies.

    (ii) There was three presidencies bengal,madras and bombay each was ruled
    by a governar the superme head of the
    administrative was the governar general.

    (iii) From 1772 a new system of justice was establised each district was to have
    two court a criminal court and a civil court. they were under the superision of
    collectors.

    court of appeal.the sadar Uizamet adalat+
    was also setup at calcutta.
