Acceptance

Angelo Almonte

In the depths of longing, where love should reside, I

find solace in acceptance, a bittersweet stride. For my

father, distant and detached, it may seem, Yet I gather

strength from within, like a resilient dream.

Though his attention may elude, like a fleeting ray,

I'll embrace the truth, forge my own way. For I am more than

the void left in his wake, I'll nurture self-love, my own

foundation I'll make.

In the absence of affection, I'll find my own grace,

Seeking love's embrace in each warm embrace. I'll turn my

gaze inward, to the depths of my soul, Discovering strength

and resilience untold.

Through empathy's lens, I'll understand, That his

actions, a reflection of his own inner land. His struggles

and wounds, hidden from view, May have shaped the love he

could not imbue.

In forgiveness, I'll find liberation's sweet song,

Release the burdens that held me for so long. For it is not

my worth that he failed to see, But the depth of his own

limitations, it must be.

I'll build a tapestry of love, with threads anew,

Surrounded by those who cherish and value The depths of my

being, the essence of me, Unconditionally embraced, forever

set free.

For I am worthy of love, attention, and care, Even when

my father's presence may not be there. I'll cultivate love,

filling my heart's deep well, Knowing that acceptance within

myself will dwell.

So, I'll walk this path with strength and grace,

Embracing the love I deserve, in every place. For a father's

absence cannot define my worth, I'll rise above, embracing

my own rebirth. In the tapestry of life, I'll find my own

way, With love, self-acceptance, and resilience as my stay.

For I am whole, complete, and enough, Regardless of a

father's love, tender and tough.
