This booklet contains a list of government benefits that you selected. For each benefit,
you will see general information, eligibility criteria, and how you can apply. There is
also space on the right-hand side to write down notes. Please note, the application
process can be easy, moderate, or hard. You may require a SIN number, computer,
printer, identification, and even visits to government offices or your doctor's office.
However, it is important to apply because it may increase your income!

If you need any assistance, visit the Help page on the Benefits wayfinder to find an
organization that can provide one-on-one support or ask the staff person who helped
you go through the questionnaire.

One-time Goods and Services Tax (GST)
payment
The one-time Goods and Services Tax (GST) payment is aimed to double the amount
of the GST Credit that you and your family receive for a six-month period.

The one-time GST payment is available to help you with your additional costs due to
inflation. This payment will double the Goods and Services Tax / Harmonized Sales Tax
(GST/HST) credit you and your normally family get for a six-month period. You will
receive the additional one-time GST credit payment if you were entitled to receive the
GST credit in October 2022.

You could receive a maximum payment of up to:

If you are single

$234 (no children)


$387 (with 1 child)
$467 (with 2 children)
$548 (with 3 children)
$628 (with 4 children)

If you are married or have a common-law partner

$306 (no children)

How to calculate your one-time payment

Notes:
Eligibility

You are eligible for this credit if you are a resident of


Canada for income tax purposes at the beginning of
the month in which the CRA makes a payment (see
When we pay your GST/HST credit) and you have
filed your taxes. In the month before we make a
quarterly payment, you must also meet at least one of
the following conditions during the same period:

You are 19 years of age or older.
You have (or had) a spouse or common-law
partner.
You are (or were) a parent and live (or lived) with
your child.

How to apply

To apply for one-time GST payment:

Payment Date
The one-time payment will be issued starting
November 4, 2022. If you do not receive your GST
credit payment on the expected date, please wait 10
business days before you contact us. You may also
check your notice to see if your payments have
changed.

The Quebec Tax Credits Finder is a valuable and easy to use tool that helps you find
and explore all of the tax credits available in Quebec.

The tool allows you to filter your search results by category. Here are just a few of
those categories:

Seniors.
Caregivers.
Low-income individuals.
Employment expenses.
Students and recent graduates.
Single parent families.
Housing.

By using this tool, you can discover a vast amount of resources that can put money in
your pocket or help you save on expenses.

Solidarity Tax Credit
The Solidarity Tax Credit provides families living on lower and middle-incomes in
Quebec with a tax credit.

The Solidarity Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit for lower to middle income families.

The amount you receive through this program will depend on your situation on
December 31, of the previous year. For an estimation of the tax credit you may receive,
use the Solidarity Tax Credit Payments Estimator.

Please note: You must be registered for direct deposit to get the tax credit.

Eligibility

To claim the Solidarity Tax Credit, you must file


Schedule D of your income tax return.

To be eligible for the credit, you must meet all the


following criteria:

You were 18 or older or, if you are younger than 18:


You had a spouse.
You were the parent of a child who lived with
you; or
You were recognized as an emancipated minor.

You were a resident of Quebec.


You or your spouse was:
A Canadian citizen.
A permanent resident or a protected person
within the meaning of the Immigration and
Refugee Protection Act; or
A temporary resident or the holder of a
temporary resident permit within the meaning
of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
who had been living in Canada for the last 18
months.

Situations where you are not eligible:

You were confined to a prison or similar institution
on December 31, 2021, and, in 2021, you were
confined for one or more periods totalling more
than 183 days.
Someone received a family allowance payment
from Retraite Québec regarding you for December
2021 (unless you turned 18 during that month).
Family income: Even if you meet the eligibility
requirements, you will not receive the credit if your
family income is equal to or greater than the limit.

How to apply

To receive this Solidarity Tax Credit, you must file


Schedule D of your income tax return.

You must be registered for direct deposit to get the


tax credit.

Goods and Services and Harmonized Sales
Tax Credit
This benefit allows people living on low to moderate incomes cancel all or part of the
GST or HST taxes they have paid.

The GST/HST credit is a tax-free quarterly payment that helps individuals and families
with low or modest incomes cancel all or part of GST or HST taxes they've paid.

The benefit will depend on your family situation, size and income.

Eligibility

You may be able to get this benefit if you:

Are a resident of Canada for income tax purposes


in the month prior to and at the beginning of the
month in which the Canada Revenue Agency
(CRA) makes a payment.

AND at least one of the following applies:

You are 19 years of age or older before the month


in which CRA issues a quarterly payment.
You have (or previously had) a spouse or
common-law partner.
You are (or previously were) a parent and live (or
previously lived) with your child.

How to apply

To claim the GST/HST credit, you must file your taxes,

unless you are new to Canada (meaning that this is
your first tax year in Canada).

If you file your taxes, the Canada Revenue Agency will


automatically determine your eligibility for this
benefit and send you payments if you qualify.

If this is your first tax year in Canada, follow these


steps to apply:

Complete one of the following forms:

If you have children: fill out and sign Form RC66,


Canada Child Benefits Application to apply for all
child and family benefits, including the GST/HST
credit. You must also complete form RC66SCH, Status
in Canada and Income Information for the Canada
Child Benefits Application to capture your citizenship
and residency information, along with your Statement
of Income.

If you do not have children: fill out and sign Form


RC151, GST/HST and CAI Credit Application for
Individuals Who Become Residents of Canada.

Mail the completed form to your tax centre.

Notes

The CRA will let you know if you are eligible to


receive the credit.

The CRA usually sends the GST/HST credit payments


on the fifth day of July, October, January, and April.
