THE MYSTERY OF THE BOSCOMBE VALLEY.
- Girl: Good morning, this telegram arrived sir.
- Watson: Good morning, thank you. (he receives a telegram where Sherlock Holmes
announces a murder). I'm going to visit Holmes.
- Holmes: Good afternoon, mate. Did you receive my telegram?
- Watson: Good afternoon. Yes, sir. I have a lot of concerns.
- Holmes: Sure, tell me.
- Watson: Where did this murder happen?
- Holmes: In the Boscombe Valley where Mr. Turner lived, who owned most of the land, Mr.
McCarthy lived on one of his farms.
- Watson: How did you manage to buy that land?
- Holmes: He earned his fortune in the mines of Australia during the gold rush, where he also
met Mr. McCarthy.
- Watson: Did they have family?
- Holmes: Mr. Turner had a daughter and Mr. McCarthy a son, both of whom were widowers.
- Watson: What are the facts?
- Holmes: Mr. McCarthy told his servant that he had a date on the lake at the three of them,
but he didn't know with whom.
- Watson: Did anyone see it?
- Holmes: The guard saw him walking alone and then, he saw his son, James McCarthy, with
a shotgun, heading to the same place. The guard's daughter saw them arguing loudly.
- Watson: What happened next?
- Holmes: James arrived with a bloodied right hand asking for help because he had found his
father dead. At the scene of the crime everything points to his son being guilty.
- Watson: The evidence accuses him.
- Holmes: As simple as it sounds, it's a difficult case. Do not trust the evidence with the
naked eye. In addition, Turner's daughter believes that he is innocent and has hired
Lestrade, who has called me.
- Watson: So, what's the plan?
- Holmes: We go by train to interrogate young McCarthy, since he is detained.

(Scene change)
- Holmes: Good afternoon. I'm Sherlock Holmes
- Watson: Good afternoon. I'm Dr. Watson
- James: Good afternoon.
- Watson: Please tell us what happened? We are investigating the crime.
- James: I spent three days in Bristol, but when I arrived in the morning, I didn't find my
father, so I went out hunting rabbits and took my shotgun. When I was near the lagoon, I
heard a << cui >>.
- Holmes: Excuse me, the <<cui>> Is it something you and your father used?
- James: That's right. I met my father, but he was upset to see me, we argued and I left, the
guard and his daughter saw us. As I walked away, I heard a frightening noise, returned to
the place and saw my father on the ground with injuries to his head, I tried to help him,
but he died in my arms. The last thing I utter was something about a rat.
- Holmes: Thank you very much for your time.

(As they return to the train station, they are chatting)

- Watson: Young McCarthy refused to say the reason he was arguing with his father.
- Holmes: He used the imagination to tell us about the last thing his father said, but how
could he not use the imagination to invent the reason for his argument? I will start from
the fact that the young man tells the truth.

(Scene change) (Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson meet Lestrade at the station)

- Lestrade: Good afternoon gentlemen.

- Holmes: Good afternoon, what a pleasant surprise.
- Watson: Good afternoon.
- Lestrade: Come on, I invite you for a drink.

(Everyone goes to the bar and Miss Turner arrives)

- Lestrade: The case is very clear. But Miss Turner had heard of you and wanted your
opinion.
- Watson: here she is now!
- S. Turner: I know James didn't! We have known each other since childhood, do you think
he is innocent?
- Holmes: I think it's very likely to be.
- S. Turner: Also, I'm sure James argued with his father for me, but the judge didn't want to
tell him. They often argued because Mr. McCarthy wanted us to get married, but he's very
young and didn't want to yet.
- Holmes: Was your father in favor of the wedding?
- S. Turner: No, he didn't want to either.
- Holmes: Can I visit your father tomorrow?
- S. Turner: The doctor will not quit. My father has been ill for years and this has sunk him,
as he was his only acquaintance from when he worked in the Australian mines of Victoria.
Please tell James that I know he is innocent!
- Holmes: I will. See you later.
(Scene change) (The next day, Watson stayed at the inn analyzing the police report regarding the
injury. Holmes marched with Lestrade to visit James in prison)

- Holmes: Good afternoon, comrade, did you find anything in the report?
- Watson: Investigate the evidence given and it is concluded that the blow was given from
the back, this favors the defendant a little, but it is themention of the rat since it does not
reach the delirium. And you?
- Holmes: The son doesn't know who he was either, but I do know he's very much in love
with Miss Turner. On the other hand, we know that the father did not have a date with
the son in the lagoon and shouted <<cui>> not knowing that he had returned.
- Watson: It's a little complicated.
- Holmes: Do you think it's better that tomorrow we visit the crime scene?
- Watson: That's fine with me.

(Scene change) (The next day, the three investigators go to the scene of the crime)

- Lestrade: Mr. Turner didn't charge Mr. McCarthy and he's helped him a lot. But isn't it
uncommon that, if McCarthy owed him so much, to impose that his son marries Miss
Turner knowing that Mr. Turner was opposed to it?
- Holmes: We're already with the deductions!
- Watson: I'm going to question the guard and his daughter.
- Lestrade: I accompany you.
- Holmes: I'm going to investigate the crime scene.

Performance

(Holmes talks to the maid asking for the McCarthys' boots, checked the crime scene very well and
followed the trail of the footprints and found a lot of very useful evidence) -He hunched over the
men, tightened his neck, frowned his forehead –

- Watson: What exactly did you see?

- Guard: I was doing my routine surveillance; I saw Mr. McCarthy going to the lagoon and
after a while I saw his son going to the same place.
- Watson: Thank you very much, what did you see?
- Daughter G.: I saw the McCarthys arguing very loudly, and young McCarthy left in a very
bad mood.
- Watson: Thank you very much, your information has been very helpful.

(All the researchers met to talk)

- Watson: I already questioned the guard and his daughter, but I didn't find anything
peculiar.
- Holmes: (Pulling a rock out of his pocket) with this the murder was committed, its shape
matches the wound.
- Lestrade: What about the murder?
- Holmes: He's tall, left-handed, limps some of his right leg, smokes cigarettes and uses
mouthpieces. I would help him look for him, but this afternoon I will be busy and maybe I
will return to London. Good bye.
- Watson: (Walking away) What's going on?
- Holmes: At the inn I say to you.

(Scene change) (Doctor Watson and Sherlock Holmes are at the inn)

- Watson: What's going on?

- Holmes: The "cui" was not to call McCarthy's son, but with the person who had been
quoted, it is a typical cry of Australia.
- Watson: What about the rat?
- Holmes: (Taking out a map) This is a map of Australia where the gold rush was lived. If I
cover this place with my hand, what do you read?
- Watson: LLarat.
- Holmes: And now? (Removeor hand)
- Watson: Ballarat.
- Holmes: Exactly, that was the word Mr. McCarthy said. The killer lived there because the
lagoon is only reached by the farm or the estate.
- Watson: And how did the killer's physique know what he was doing?
- Holmes: I noticed that he was limping because the footprint of his right foot was always
less clear, and he is left-handed because he hit it on the left side. I saw ash behind the
tree, it must have been that I was smoking and there were no lip prints, so I use
mouthpiece.
- Watson: Oh, I understand. It's Mr. Turner!

(Scene change) (Watson and Holmes go to Mr. Turner's house)

- Mr. Turner: Good afternoon gentlemen.

- Watson: Good afternoon.
- Holmes: Good afternoon, did you receive my note?
- Turner: Yes, the guard brought it to me.
- Holmes: I know everything about McCarthy.
- Turner: God have mercy on me! But I didn't open let them condemn the boy, but if I am
arrested now ...
- Holmes: I'm not a policeman, but the young man must be free.
- Turner: Me little life left; you know?
- Holmes: Tell us the truth, I will write it, Watson will act as a witness and present the
signed confession if necessary.
- Turner: I was not lucky in the mines of Australia; I started stealing the gold carts with a
gang. Once, we assaulted a cart of soldiers, but I didn't have the strength to kill the driver,
it was McCarthy and he kept my face. We returned to England with the gold, I distanced
myself from everyone, bought an estate and had my daughter; one day I met McCarthy
who threatened to betray me if I didn't help him and his son who were in misery. I gave to
McCarthy a part of my Earth and everything he asked me except my daughter, there I
refused. Hesummoned me to the lake, but his son came, wait behind a tree, they were
arguing about marrying my daughter I got angry not because the young man didn't like me
but because he was McCarthy's son. When his son left, I did, I killed him, but he screamed
very loudly, and I hid.
- Holmes: I'm no one to judge you. But, well, we'll see what happens. See you later.
- Watson: See you later.

(A long time passed) (While Holmes and Watson looked into the distance at Mr. Turner's grave
where Miss Turner and young McCarthy were)

- Watson: What a relief that he introduced and informed defense attorney Holmes, so
young McCarthy was released, Mr. Turner died, and Miss Turner and young McCarthy can
be happy without knowing their parents' dark past.
- Holmes: That’s right. What is the next case?
