Beaded/bezeled cabochon

made by Bizsuterie

You need a cabochon (this pattern is done for Swarovski cabochons, but you can use any kind
cabochons of any kind of sizes – or semiprecious stone, as well. All you have to consider is
the side thickness and the circumference of the stone. If you find it thick, you might need
more rows of the basic beads of 11/0 cylinder beads) ; seed beads of two sizes: 11/0 cylinder
beads (Toho Treasure / Miyuki Delica) and 15/0 seed beads; thread, beading needle (you
might use fireline, as well).

How many beads do you need to

Step 2.
Now you will create the 2nd row. Technique: peyote. Pick 4650 square rivoli 18 52
up one cylinder bead and skipping a bead, go through the
2nd cylinder in row. Repeat this step 15 times more. You
will add 16 new beads by the end. End in the first added
cylinder bead with your thread.
Please note that when you work with thick cabochons you
may have to add a few more rows depending on the
thickness of it!

Step 3.
The ring you have is not tightened enough to hold your
cabochon in. You have to shrink it by using smaller beads,
size of 15/0 seed beads on both side.
Pick up one 15/0 seed bead and go through the next newly
added cylinder bead. Repeat this step another 15 times.
End with your thread in the first added seed bead.
Step 4.
Now you will work between the newly added 15/0 seed
beads.
Pick up one 15/0 seed bead and go through the next seed
bead. Repeat this step another 15 times more.
Peyoting to the other side of your creation end in one of the
cylinder bead in the outer row.

Step 5.
Again you will use 15/0 seed beads and will work
between the „outstanding” cylinder beads.
Pick up one 15/0 seed bead and go through the next
cylinder bead. Repeat this step 15 times more.
End with your thread in the first added seed beads.

Step 6.
First of all do not forget to put your
cabochon into the nest with its color faced
down!
Close the bezel with 15/0 seed beads.
Pick up one 15/0 seed bead and go through
the next newly added seed bead. Repeat this
step 15 times more.
If you will not work with it further, make a
double not between two beads, go with your
thread ahead through a few more beads and
cut it off.

Congratulations!
You have finished your bezeled
cabochon!
