Welcome to Mount Royal University! Here is a checklist of next steps to get started this summer. Check off
these items one by one and you'll be ready for a great start come September. We look forward to seeing you
soon. 

Now 
☐ Check your Mount Royal (@mtroyal.ca) account daily. This is your official email account.
☐ Register for the ELP New Student Orientation. 
☐ Add the academic schedule/critical dates to your Google calendar. 
☐ Arrange your placement test. 
☐ Check out our Predeparture and Arrival webpage before you travel to Canada
☐ Contact Residence about availability.
☐ Connect with Access & Inclusion if you require academic accommodations
☐ International Students only: Purchase Health Insurance for Fall and email proof of insurance in order to
be registered in your courses. 

August
☐ Pay tuition by Aug. 15
☐ Update your emergency contact information in MyMRU
☐ Update your SIN information in MyMRU (for tax slips for domestic students only)
☐ Check your email for information about purchasing textbooks
☐ Get your ONECard
☐ Purchase your parking pass
☐ Set up MyFare app for UPass
☐ Get your locker through MyMRU (optional)
☐ Check your email for details about the ELP New Student Orientation
 
September
☐ Attend ELP New Student Orientation on Sept. 6, 9 a.m. - noon
☐ Attend your first class on Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.
