- V2c: the “c” stands for community string
I) SNMP v1:
- Is the first version of SNMP protocol
- Its information are being send in clear text
- Lack of security – no protection
- Commands/operations:
 GET: use it to get one information from the agent
 SET: uses by manager to set variables inside an agent. Example set interface
name: R2  R6
 Trap: is information send by agent to the manager
 GET NEXT: used by manager to get next result/information from an agent
 GETRESPONSE: can be used by both (manger & agent) to response with
information to requester.
- SNMP protocol uses ports 161 to send message (get, set, or GetNext) over UDP,
& port 162 is uses to send TRAP from an agent to manager.
SNMP v2c:
- Additional commands: Getbulk and inform:

Object identifier (OID): is a unique number that you assigned to the agent property
