HDW-F900 One Frame Record Mode

The HDW-F900 has the capability to record one frame at a time. Effectively the camcorder goes
into an insert edit mode and only advances one frame at a time. The tape machine does have to
reset with each frame so the fastest cycling time is about 2 1/2 seconds. This mode should not be
used on software versions earlier than SY1.30, as it is not either present or will operate correctly
with these earlier versions.

Below you will find a step-by-step procedure for addressing this feature.

1. Forward to the VTR Setup Menu, M8.

2. Direct the cursor to the blank space below the “Standby Timer” line.
3. Hold in the rotary encoder for approximately 10 Seconds. The one frame record on/off
menu will appear in the blank space.
4. Record black for the desired record time on the tape to be used for the project.
5. Rewind the tape to the head leaving at least ten seconds of black at the head.
6. Turn on the “One Frame Record Mode” on Menu M8.
7. Activate the “Lens Return” function to cue the tape.
8. Press the “Record Button”; each activation will result in the recording of one frame.

To deactivate this special recording mode turn off the function on M8 or activate “Play” or
“Stop” on the VTR controls.
