INTRODUCTION
Additional solvent may need to be added in order to achieve clean spray patterns. Refer to the
technical data sheet for the coating used.
Line Spacing: 4 - 7 mm
Solvent free coatings may have higher flow or atomization settings (when compared to coatings with
solvent) to compensate for a higher viscosity liquid.
Line Spacing: 3 - 5 mm
Turn the valve stroke bolt clockwise until it stops. This will shut off the valve flow completely.
Step 2
Push the Purge button and set the atomizing air pressure.
Push and release the Purge button 3-4 times to make sure the atomizing air regulator is settled
correctly.
Step 4
Push the purge button for 1 second and examine the flow of material. You should have a smooth
spray coating with clean edges.
Run the program on a test substrate (PCB, glass slide, metal plate, etc.). Examine the spray
quality and coverage.
Adjust the valve within the given parameters until an acceptable pattern is created. Adjust the
valve stroke and the atomizing air for the best results. The goal is to match the flow of material to
the speed of the path.
The valve is on for too long before the robot moves. Decrease the "On" value.
The valve is on for too long at the end of the path. Change the settings so that the valve stops
dispensing sooner.
The Valve (tool) "On", "Off", and "Wait" settings are in the Dispensing Parameters section of the
Teach or Edit windows of PathMaster.
