Do notstartthe engine unt th cok start warning Check the fault codes and the required action to light (extinguishes rectly the fault Damage tothe engine could occur if this caution te ignored Emergency Steering Warning Light ‘The cold start function is automatic. When the ignition is switched on and the engine coolant temperature is below 15°C (59°F), the warning light illuminates. When itis safe to start the engine, the cold start warning light extinguishes, Low Engine Coolant Level Warning Light tthe emergency steering warning light flashes, the machine must be steered to safety as soon as possi ble and then stopped. ‘The emergency steering warning light flashes if there is an engine or main hydraulic pump failure and the emergency steering is activated ‘The main warning light and the waming buzzer are also activated with the emergency steering warning light. tf the low engine coolant level warning light flashes, the machine must be stopped and the engine shut down immediately Engine damage may resultf this caution is ignored. ‘The warning light flashes when the engine coolant requires replenishing immediately. ‘The main warning light and the waming buzzer are also activated with the low engine coolant level warning light. High Hydraulic Fluid Temperature Warning Light Ifthe high hydraulic fluid temperature warning ight flashes, the machine must be stopped immediately. The high hydraulic fluid temperature warning light flashes when the hydraulic fluid temperature ex- ceeds 95°C/100°C (203°F/212°F) If overheating occurs stop the machine, engage neutral and allow the engine to run at 1 §00 rpm, until the hydraulic temperature retums to normal temperature and the warning light extinguishes. Check the fluid levels. The main warning light and the waming buzzer are also activated with the high hydraulic fluid tempera- ture warning light OPERATION OPERATING COMPONENTS Right Turn Indicator Light ‘The right turn indicator light (9) will lash when the steering column switch is moved to indicate a right tur. Ifthe hazard switch is ON both direction indicators flash with the steering column switch in the OFF po- sition. When the steering column switch is moved to the right tur position, the right hand side indicator lights will fash while the left hand side indicator lights will be ON continuously. Control Traction Diff Lock Light NOTE: Not Applicable to B18-30E. Inter-Axle Diff Lock Light Do not operate the machine on hard surfaces with the interaxle differential lock engaged. Damage tothe drivetrain may resuttf this caution is not observed. OPERATION OPERATING COMPONENTS EFA, To engage inter-axle differential lock, the IDL switch must be activated and the accelerator must be re- leased briefly The machine can be moving at any speed. Bin Raised Warning Light ‘As a safety precaution itis recommended that the op- ator should not drive the machine when the bin, raised warning light (2) i illuminated as this may ‘cause serious damage to the machine andlor injury to personnel. Tip Control Lever in this Chapter for special instruc tions regarding driving the machine while the bin is. raised. The 3d warnin when the bin is raised NOTE Gear restriction will occur while the bin is up. Battery Charge Warning Light fault must discharg ‘The warning light illuminates if the alternator is not charging the batteries or if the engine is not running and the ignition switch is ON. The normal operating voltage is between 25.5V and 29.5V while the engine is running, The balance between the two batteries is also monitored and if a difference of greater than 1.2V occurs, the battery light is illuminated, This must be rectified immediately, or damage to both batteries will occur. Engine Air Filter Indicator Light The engine air filter indicator ight (14) illuminates. ‘when the air element is blocked and needs to be replaced Retarder Light @ The retarder light (8) is activated when either the transmission retarder or engine retarder (Exhaust brake and/or Exhaust valve brake (EVB)) is activated. JULY 2013 OPERATION OPERATING COMPONENTS Ifthe transmission fault warning ight luminates, the machine must be stopped immediately using only the ‘service brake and NOT the gear shift control. For some problems, diagnostic codes may be regis- tered without the ECU activating the DNS warning light. ‘Whenever there isa transmission related concer, ‘consult BELL EQUIPMENT Product Support ‘The electronic control system is programmed to in- form the operator of a problem with the transmis- sion system and automatically take action to protect the operator, machine and transmission When the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) detects "Do Not Shift” (DNS) condition, the ECU restricts shifting, turns on the DNS warning light and regis- ters a diagnostic code. Tyre Pressure Indicator Equipped) ight (If ‘The tyre pressure indicator light will be activated when the pressure in one or more Tyres drops be- low the minimum specification, If there is a moderate pressure problem (fist level threshold of 15% exceeded), the tyre pressure indi- cator light will flash If there is a sudden loss of pressure (second level threshold of 20% exceeded), the tyre pressure indi- cator light will illuminate and the buzzer will sound, A fault code will be generated and displayed in the active fault code menu on the CDU. Refer also to CDU-Daily Checks screen, Left Turn Indicator Light The left turn indicator light (1) will flash when the steering column switch is moved to indicate a left tur.
