If a quality plan is not required during the quotation/bid phase then the need will be
identified at the contract review as described in
The final decision on whether or not a quality plan is required rests with the WDCL
Quality Representative who, in turn, can take counsel from the WDCL Quality
Manager.
4.3 The style of the Quality Plan will depend upon the complexity of the contract and
the extent of the equipment and services required. It shall either conform to the
standard format described in para. 4.5 below or it may, in the case of a large or
complex contract, be special to the contract.
4.4 In the event that a standard quality plan will be furnished, the format shown at
Appendix A shall be used. The Quality Representative, who is present at the
contract review, can fill in the required information at the review if then known.
If the equipment listed are extensive then an ‘Attached List’ may be used but must
clearly identify the quality plan to which it refers.
The entries may be either hand-written or typed. The standard format Quality Plan
is a controlled document and shall be subject to QA Procedure. The master shall be
kept in file along with any amendment information. Amendment information can
include bars to indicate changes from the previous issue if relevant.
4.5 If a quality plan requires to be more extensive than the standard format
shown at appendix A then this will be identified at the contract review. The Quality
Representative shall produce the plan using all the contract requirements available.
It may be necessary to obtain the approval of the customer by his signature in the
appropriate place.
