1. The prices are getting bigger/are rising; the meat costs more than anything now.
2. I’m sure that the dog hears us because he is looking at us.
3. As far as we know, this house owns/belongs to you now.
4. The trees blooms, so the gardens smeel good.
5. Thomas sees us now; he is waving at us.
6. She is just buying some gifts for her grandchildren. She loves them so much!
7. She is always calling me and asking me stupid questions.
8. Now when he has mustache he is very alike his father.
9. ”Look, the tram is coming! Are you taking it or waiting for the bus?” ”I think that I
am going to take it. Unless I take this tram, I will be late to theatre. And if I am late,
I will not be allowed to enter.”
10. I know that he collects postages/stamps, but this stamp book contains only a small
part of his collections.

19. Imagine that we are on the train now and we are traveling in London. One of the
passengers looks out of the window, another reads a book and two others talk.
Suddenly there is a terrible noise/a terrible noise is heard. The train stops suddenly,
and the luggage falls one after the other.
20. ”What are you looking for?” ”I am looking for my pen.” ”You are always searching
for something! I am wondering when you are going to be careful with your things.”

demolished.”
22. Jane and Mary are driving/seeing their brother /off to the train station. Why don’t
you go with them? You know that their brother makes a lot of jokes so you are
going to have a good time.

thinking about summer holiday.”
24. ”Are you going somewhere tonight, Robert?” ”No, I am staying at home. Our
neightbours are coming to watch a movie together.” ”Do you often invite them
over/to your place?” ”No, they invite themselves whenever they hear about a good
movie.”
25. It is saturday night. The Smith family/The Smiths are at home. Mrs. Smith is
listening to a radio concert, Mr. Smith is reading the paper, and their daughter,
Juliet, is playing with the dolls. They spend almost every saturday night this
way/like this.
26. My father wakes up very early, but he washes/showers himself, shaves and has
breakfast so quietly that/so we do not/can’t hear anything, but we hear him when he
leaves home because our car is old and makes a terrible noise.

28. All our guides speak three or four foreign languages because very many tourists
come here in the summer to spend a part of their holiday.
