Liau Zhen Yi 2 Rajin- An Unfortunate event One evening, three boys were playing football in a field.

They get together almost every day to play football. They believe that a healthy body makes a sound mind. It is also a good chance for them to create a stronger friendship between themselves. As they were laughing and chattering nineteen to the dozen, a woman was walking by. She watched them as they played. Then, a motorcyclist appeared out of the blue. He was going quite fast. As he sped past the woman, he snatched her handbag. The woman was shocked and taken aback. She nearly lost her balance when the snatch-thief grabbed her handbag from behind. Luckily, she did not fall onto the rough pavement. Immediately, she screamed for help. The snatch-thief was getting away with her handbag. The boys stopped their game momentarily. When they turned around, they saw the motorcyclist not far off. Instinctively they rushed after the thief, hoping to be able to reach him in time. The woman was devastated. All her personal belongings were in the bag. The boys ran as fast as their legs could carry them. However, the thief was escaping on his motorcycle. Then, one of the boys had an ingenius idea. In one last effort, he kicked the ball he was holding. The football was actually aimed at the snatch-thief. The ball hit the man on his helmet. He lost his balance and fell off the motorcycle onto the road. The boys were triumphant! They quickly reprimanded guilty thief. One of the boys took the handbag and gave it to the woman. The woman was extremely grateful and thanked all the boys profusely. She immediately called the authorities and informed them about the snatchthief. The police arrived 10 minutes later and took the thief away. They too, praised the boys for thwarting the thiefs plans. The woman wanted to reward the boys for helping her but they refused to accept her money. They told her they did it because it was the right thing to do and not for the money. They all agreed that it was indeed very lucky to have got the handbag back. As for the thief, he will be punished by the authorities. As they always say, what goes around comes around. It is decided that evil deeds do not go unpunished.

Kung Soon Heng 4 Dinamik In this materialized, globalised and la doice vita era, parents are just being too stern on the bad grades their child produces. This issue has been a polemic not only the society but it also concerns the ministers. Picture this, if an innocent young and tender child was reprimanded and abused so terribly just because of his or her bad grades in a monthly school test, is that even relevant or does not that portray good parenting? Contemplate for a moment. So the question is, do good grades really determine success in life? The answer is no. Let us take an example. For instance, Bill Gates. If you were to say success is determined by good grades, what about Bill Gates? He was dropped out of school and yet he became the worlds richest man with a Microsoft company. Now, how is that? The main idea that I would like to convey is the problem with good grades. The thing is that a good grade is usually associated with our academic achievements in alma mater-schools, institutes, universities and colleges. But, success in life is not only solely based on our curriculum but also our co-curriculum and also the moral values that embedded within our heart. Basically, the blame is mainly on parents. Again as I mentioned earlier, parents tend to relate the success of their child based on their childs academic achievement. This is totally wrong. Based on extensive research and analysis by the world most renowned universities, it is proven and classified that every child that was boom into this world will never be the same even if they are genetically similar. The simple question would be this; do you have the same likes and dislikes as your siblings or maybe the same passion? The chances are almost nil. So what is success? According to Aristotle, a success is a journey, not a destination that should be endured and filled with pleasure and gaiety along the way. Success is a journey. A journey it is nevertheless, but a journey that should be enjoyed with either moments of gloom or shine. It does not really matter, even if it is gloom or shine, what matters most is the experience. Now let us get back to our topic of discussion. Like I mentioned earlier, success in life I s not mainly based on our academic achievements but also our cocurriculum and the noble values deep within our hearts. Not every child born into this world is intelligent or a bookworm for what matter. Imagine, if the world is only filled with intellects, will they be any Justin Bieber or Michael Phelphs for that matter? A child born is each equipped with at least one talent whether is academics, sports or even the entertainment industry. The most significant thing is, the way or technique of parenting of a

parent has this sort of mentality and mindset, and this world will be nothing but success not only in studies but also the other respective fields. In conclusion, I strictly disagree with good grades being associated only to academics. For those parents out there or maybe you for that matter, spend more time together with your child, get to understand them a little better than the way you understand the right now. After some time, a deep mutual respect and bond will be developed. Parents! Bear this principle in your mind; never ever give up hope on your child because if you do they will too give up hope on life. So, enjoy life it still last, we only tend to appreciate what we have when it is gone or for the matter of fact gone forever.

Natalie Khoo Sue Ann 4 Dinamik-My 2010 New year celebration People of all ages and different walks of life enjoy parties, celebrations and festive seasons because it brings joys and happiness to oneself. Throughout the year, there are many kinds of fun celebrations one could attend such as New Year Celebrations, birthday parties, festive celebrations and family day events. These are times when one can be freed from chaos in our daily lives and loosen up ourselves to enjoy life. I , for one, am a huge fan our these events and celebrations and there is one I particularly remember as well as I know the back of my hand. A few years ago, my family and I went to Mont Kiara on New Years Eve. Just a week before, my father was informed that there would be countdown celebrations held there. My father had asked my brother and I if we were interested to attend the event, and to no ones surprise, we obviously were keen and excited to go for it. So that night, we dressed up to the nines as we were prepared to snap many pictures throughout the celebration. We reached the area around six o clock in the evening and to our amazement. There we were already many people around although the celebration would only start at eight. Nevertheless, we walked around the area, in search of nice restaurant where we could have our dinner. It being auspicious night, my father agreed to treat us to the famous and above-your-average restaurant, Secret Recipe . There, we indulged ourselves with delicious and scrumptious food such as lamb stew. To quench our thirst, we opted for pricier drinks like milkshakes. Not to be missed out was their reknowned cakes and brownies, which always had my mouth watering at a glance. Around eighto clock, the party started with an introduction and welcome from deejay and the hast for the night. Then, many famous artists made their appearances on stage, such as Jaclyn Victor from the Malaysian Idol, Suki and several other superstars. There was wonderful music, as well as interesting and exciting dances from several dancers and dance crews. Each time someone performed on stage, there were a tumultuous applause from the crowd,. Even the crowd grew larger and louder by minute. Later that night, I spotted one of my church friends, a boy named Ethan. We exchanged smiles and had short talk in which w had to shout on the top of our lungs, due to the wild noise from the overexcited crowd. Then, we rejoined our families and enjoyed the never-ending performances which were a joy to watch. Also, my family and I enjoy took many pictures and videos to remember the crazy time we had there.

Nearing midnight, the host told us to prepare for the countdown. I was filled with excitement as the party had we pumped all night. We counted down ten seconds to midnight and finally, the sky was filled with beautiful and attractive fireworks with many colours. It was superb and amazing to watch. I will never forget the experience I had on that day and it will be kept as one of the best memories I have ever had in my life.
