accessories, which it markets under the bebe, COLLECTION bebe, BEBE SPORT and bebe O
brand names. Current Chairman and Founder Manny Mashouf founded bebe as a San Francisco
boutique in 1976, a time when three categories dominated the women's wear market: junior,
bridge and missy. Having discovered a demographic that was neither junior nor bridge, Manny
aimed to break the mold by offering this under represented population of stylish women distinctive
and inspirational fashion bearing an unmistakable hint of sensuality. His concept stuck and bebe
reaped early success.
bebe currently operates 273 stores, of which 198 are bebe stores, 20 are bebe outlet stores, 54
are BEBE SPORT stores and 1 bebe accessories store. These stores are located in the United
States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Canada. In addition, there is an online store at
www.bebe.com.
The bebe Brand
Through an edgy, highimpact, visual advertising campaign using print, outdoor, instore and
direct mail communication vehicles, we attract customers who are intrigued by the playfully
sensual and evocative imagery of the bebe lifestyle. We also offer a line of merchandise branded
with the distinctive bebe logo to increase brand awareness.
Within our stores and through our online store, we seek to create an upscale, inviting boutique
environment that further enhances the bebe brand and builds customer loyalty and demand for
bebe merchandise. Furthermore, we train our sales associates to be responsive and
