CAPIZTAHAN FESTIVAL Rosenda Andrada Candidate #9 The Capiztahan festival is one of the most-awaited events in the province of Capiz. It is the celebration of the 122nd Founding Anniversary of the Civil Government of Capiz since its establishment in 1901. It also the celebration of capiz local product, the seafoods that will capture everyone to come again and again in the province. Designer: @Loidie Ordines Panagbenga Festival Candidate #8 JORLYN GRACE DELA CRIZ Panagbenga is a Kankanaey word that literally translates to “season of blooming.” That said, the Baguio flower festival celebrates the variety of fresh blooms of Baguio and the Cordilleras. Despite its cheery atmosphere, the festival is rooted in a much deeper history. The Baguio City Panagbenga Festival is a symbolism of hope and new beginnings from the deadly earthquake that devastated the Luzon island on July 1990. Five years after the calamity, the Panagbenga Festival was arranged annualy with the goal of boosting tourism and restoring livelihood in the region. It is described as a religious devotion translated to a dance and considered as integrative art that is traditionally performed to the accompaniment of drums and chanting along with poetry, movement and music as a form of praise to the Patron. This is a celebration of their love towards one another. Designer: VANESSA PUFA The costume | proudly wear embodies the essence of the Sinadya sa Halaran festival, where solemnity intertwines with jubilation. This ensemble is a visual representation of the revered commemoration of the feast of our city’s beloved patroness, Immaculada Concepcion. The hues of blues and whites symbolize the everlasting heaven and purity of our patroness. Like her, my wish for everyone here is everlasting peace and purity sent from the heavens above. The term “Panagbenga” comes froma Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”. This festival reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras. Designer: kidJun dedales Candidate #5 Patrcia claire cruz This brilliantly-hued tubular garment, which enveloped the entire body of the person wearing it, was constructed with alternating panels of solid color silk cloth joined by vertical and full packed beads tapestry woven bands of extremely fine workmanship. The gold simbolizes every empowered woman. bold, dauntless and full of sophistication. The headress stand as the crown. And this is a simple reminder that the crown every woman should wear must not only be on their head but must be on their hearts. Itis composed of kindness, humility and bravery. Moreover, the costumes typically consist of a headdress. Participants adorn it with feathers, beads, and other embellishments. Others use a body suit with designs inspired by indigenous patterns and colors. The vision of this costume is to protect, promote and to preserve the rich And Vibrant Culture of lloilo city We choose blue, Black And Gold to represent the rich occupation and culture of the people of Iloilo City. The Participants Show Impressive choreography with Blue, Black and Yellow tribal costumes and striking props to present socio-cultural and relegious tableaus depicting life in Panay before the spanish Colonization and the advent of Catholicism in the Country. PANAGAT festivity features the premitive modern lives of buruanganuns the various. PANAGAT is a festival tribute to fisherman. It is a call for unity among the people who thrive near water or sea. Designer : JOEN BERLANDINO Candidate # 2 @Roselyn Delacruz The MassKara Festival of Bacolod City is one the biggest festivals in the Philippines. Believe it or not, the festival has been giving local and international visitors the chance to have fun, drink, and party on the streets of Bacolod for over 30 years now! To lift the spirits of the locals and bring back the smiles on their faces, the MassKara Festival was created. The smiling masks were a declaration of the people of Bacolod City that they will pull through and survive the challenges and tragedies that they are facing. This annual festival, which is similar to Brazil’s Rio Carnival, literally translates to “many faces,” and is celebrated every October in Bacolod.
