Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of


migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental
partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.
It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:

Under the direct supervision of the CVAC Team Leader, the intern will provide administrative
support for the Canadian Visa Application Centre in Tbilisi, operated by IOM Georgia;
particularly s/he will:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

• Support in providing client service excellence to applicants at all times, in full


compliance with the IRCC Statement of Work (SOW) and the IRCC Service
Standards.
• Support CVAC team in the provision of client information: distribution of
application forms, checklists regarding visa requirements, and queue order
through Queue Management System on reception desk and submission counter,
as required;
• Assist with telephone, e-mail, and chat inquiries from clients (including
requirements for submitting visa applications and the location of client’s
passport), providing timely and accurate information to clients; marketing and
providing assistance to clients with Value Added Services including but not
limited to Self-Service and Assisted Data Entry services.
• Provide support for the in-charge staff in returning of passports, supporting
documentation and visa decisions.
• Undertake all other tasks as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• University Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development
Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an
accredited academic institution

Experience and Skills

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner and relay information accurately


• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural
and professional backgrounds;

Languages

• Fluency in English and Georgian, both written and spoken is required.


• Working knowledge of French or Russian would be an advantage.
