i) Water is falling over a water fall of height 30m at a rate of 45000 gm/min. Determine the power generated.
ii) Two convex lenses of power 2 dioptre and 10 dioptres are used an objective and an eyepiece of a telescope. Find
the magnifying power and the length of the telescope when focused for infinity.
iii) A car has a siren sounding of 2.5 kHz tone. If the frequency heard by a stationary listener is 200 Hz. Find the
speed with which the car moves away from the stationary listener. (Speed of sound = V = 340m/s) OR
In a sonometer a wire of length 1m is plucked at the center vibrates with a frequency 250 Hz, Calculate the
wavelength and the speed of the waves in the air?
iv) If the diffraction grating produces a first order spectrum of light of wavelength 1x10 -6 m at an angle 300 from the
normal, calculate the number of lines per mm.
v) A particle of mass 400 gm, rotates in a circular orbit of radius 20cm with constant angular speed of 1.5 rev/sec.
