In the same way as portable extinguishers,
wheeled units also have to comply with
high standards thus ensuring their
extinguishing capability (fire rating), quality
and reliability.
Recently, a new European standard for
wheeled extinguishers, EN 1866, was
introduced. The Knowsley wheeled
extinguisher range is the first in Europe to
comply with this standard. The wheeled
units also carry the CE mark so the range
can boast three guarantees of the quality:
Knowsley (ISO 9001), compliance with EN
1866 and the CE mark. The standard
EN1866 defines important minimum levels
of pressure retention, corrosion protection,
operating temperatures and fire rating.
The standard also recognises wheeled
extinguishers with a high output (type I)
and with a reduced output (type II).
Two types, fit for your kind of risk!
Knowsley knows how important it is to
make the right choice in fire fighting.
Therefore, Knowsley wheeled foam
extinguishers are made in two different types.
Wheeled foam extinguishers type I are
widely used in plants, where the fire risk
demands a high extinguishing agent
output. Typical applications are large liquid
fuel risks and petrochemical equipment in
the open field.
Wheeled foam extinguishers type II are the
preferred choice in situations with
distributed small risks. Here, a large output
is not necessary; a longer discharge time
and a finely controlled discharge is
essential to combat the spread fires
efficiently and effectively. Typical
applications of type II units are solvent
filling lines, large storage warehouses and
chemical equipment in buildings.

High Quality
Knowsley wheeled extinguishers are
designed for professional use under severe
circumstances, resulting in a high level of
quality and ergonomy.
The heart of the wheeled foam
extinguisher is the unique stainless steel
foam tank with CE approval. The large
wheels with solid rubber tires and pushbar
make it easy to drive the wheeled
extinguisher to the fire, but also ensure a
good stability during the operation.
The Knowsley FT wheeled foam
extinguishers are pressurised with an
external CO2 cylinder. The expellant cylinder
is fitted with aquick-opening valve.
Quality in every part
All of our wheeled units are equipped with
a highly flexible hose with an excellent
resistance against oil, ozone, chemicals,
wear and ageing. The discharge gun is
manufactured from selected synthetic
materials, combining a high strength with a
low weight for the operator.
