BRITISH MUSEUM HAD MOST SUCESSFUL YEAR

The British Museum had its best year in 2013. It had millions of visitors; there
were a million more visitors than in 2012. The museum director said there were
some big exhibitions, so he was happy that many people could go there. He
added that many things happened last year, and that the Internet helped people
to visit. He concluded by saying that the British Museum is a great place to go.

The British Museum has about 13 million belongings which show human history
and culture from all over the world. Even though some countries want their
things back, the director claims that they have had them for hundreds of years.
The museum was opened in 1759 when they had about 75 people visiting daily.
By that time, there were only 71,000 items including old books and dead
animals.
