DRILLING/INJECTION

1.0 Drilling of hole for installing of packer shall be done using mechanical drill unit with drill bit of
16mm diameter. Depth of the holes range from 1000 mm and up to 2500 mm from the surface.

2.0 Interval for injection hole shall be 1000 mm and up from 2500mm from centre to centre.

3.0 Depth shall be inspected by measuring the penetration of drill bit.

4.0 Depth shall be inspected by measuring the penetration of drill bit and length of steel tube.

5.0 Installation of 16 mm diameter and 100 mm length packers and mixing head with 1200mm steel
tube.

6.0 Installation of packer shall incorporate the mechanical packer for resin to flow in horizontal and
vertical directions

7.0 Point injection of AK2020 must be injected at surrounding area of sink hole interval of 2500mm to
create the barrier and set properly

8.0 Area of sink hole injected after surrounding area is already filling with AK2020.

9.0 Hydraulic or pneumatic pumping unit must be used for densification and void filling.

10.0 Injection of AK2020 shall be started after all connection securely tighten and continuously pumped
up to 800 PSI of pressure.

11.0 Diffused AK2020 shall be removed after fully set.

12.0 Patching the top layer holes with special coating / cement

WORKING HOUR

This work shall start at 9.00 a.m. and finish at 5.00 p.m. for day shift and start at 10.00 p.m. and finish at 5.00
a.m. for night shift. However the working hour and day will base on the regulation and suitability.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
 Ready-to-use, liquid-applied waterproofing membrane for external applications made from synthetic resins
dispersed in water.
 Resistant to all atmospheric conditions and UV rays, and provides long-lasting protection for the substrate.
 Easy to apply using a long-haired roller or brush on horizontal, sloping and vertical surfaces. Once dry,
AK2020 forms a strong, seamless, flexible and tack-free waterproofing membrane suitable for occasional
light foot traffic.
 Compatible with normal dynamic expansion and contraction stresses caused by temperature variations
and vibrations.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Avoid contact with skin, eye and avoid breathing vapor. Wear gloves, goggles and full clothing
when handling with raw materials. Keep away from children. If skin contact occurs, remove
AK2020 with cooking oil. DO NOT use solvent. Should poisoning occur, consult a physician in
all cases or call doctor immediately.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Substrate Preparation
All substrates, whether they are new or old, must be solid, clean, dry and free
of all traces of oil, grease, old paint, rust, mould and any other material which
could compromise the bond. All sharp protrusions must be ground smooth.
Concrete and cement substrates must be solid and dry with no rising damp.
Any loose parts must be removed. Any hollows in the surface must be repaired
with the ALGrout range of mortars and allowed to cure fully. All wax, water-
repellent treatments, etc, must be removed with a suitable detergent and/or by
sanding.

Surfaces to receive AK2020 must have a minimum gradient of 1:120 in

order to avoid water ponding on the waterproofing membrane.

Before applying AK2020, pay particular attention to the expansion

joints and the fillets between horizontal and vertical surfaces, which
must be waterproofed using AL2020 bonded to the substrate with
AK2020. Structural joints must be waterproofed with AL2020. Use a
suitable kit from the AL2020 range to seal any water outlets.

Preparation of the product

The product is supplied ready to use. If necessary, mix
the contents to blend the product thoroughly.

Application of the product

AK2020 must be applied with a long-haired roller, brush, trowel or
airless spray at the rate of 0.5 – 0.6 kg/m² per coat. Wait until the first
neat coat is completely dry (approximately 2 to 4 hours under normal
conditions such as 30°C, 80% relative humidity) before applying the
second coat. Apply in a direction perpendicular to the previous coat.
Where the area of application is subjected to high movement, or to
bridge micro-cracks, joints and seams, or when additional durability is
required, embed a layer of ALGrout fabric into the first coat when it is
still wet, followed by the second and third coats of AK2020 at the same
application rate.

Cleaning the tools

Tools must be cleaned with water immediately after use.
