TurboShield

Optimum Performance for Gas Turbines

| Advanced Technology Fine and (H)EPA Filters

Description
The AAF TurboShield is a purpose-built secondary and
final filter protecting gas turbines, diesel engines and other
rotating equipment. It is designed for optimum filtration
performance with low airflow resistance.

Utilizing Impress® pleating technology, the TurboShield has

ideal V-shape pleats for smooth airflow. This results in a very
low airflow resistance, which contributes to maintaining peak
power output. The pleat formation is also mechanically stable
and well supported, allowing the media to resist distortion
even under high pressure loads.

Suitable in coastal or high moisture applications and urban

and industrial applications with heavy dust concentrations.
The TurboShield combines the best in filtration efficiency, low
resistance, filter life and mechanical stability to deliver the
best performance in its class.

Product highlights
Features and benefits
| High particle removal efficiency

Prevent lost power | Low airflow resistance

| Compact size, low weight

TurboShield ensures maximum available power output by
maintaining compressor efficiency. | Robust, durable filter construction

Increase machine availability | Corrosion-proof construction

TurboShield maintains engine cleanliness, eliminating the need

for frequent offline water washing and unplanned shutdowns
or downtime.
Enhance fuel efficiency Moisture resistance
TurboShield’s ability to reduce fouling of the compressor allows 100% relative humidity protection, vertical pleats
the gas turbine to continue to operate more efficiently with no enhance moisture drainage and intermittent glue
reduction in fuel efficiency. separators allow coalesced water to drain down to
Low pressure drop the bottom of the filter.

Unrestricted airflow results in a very low resistance, which High burst strength
contributes to maintaining peak power output. Impress pleat formation delivers a robust media pack
Long service life with a burst strength exceeding industry standards.

Low initial resistance, higher than average media density and Leak-free seal
full media utilization extend filter life. The media pack is completely sealed in polyurethane.
Durable construction The seamless, foam-in-place gasket on the TurboShield
eliminates particulate bypass around the filter frame.
Moisture-resistant media pack is encased in high-impact
plastic cell sides, which are corrosion-proof. Plastic protection
screens provide increased stability and protection.
