Caramelized Slivered Almonds

CARAMELIZED SLIVERED ALMONDS

Ingredients Total weight: ~ 430 g 100%

• Water 100 g 23%


• Sugar 130 g 31%
• Slivered almonds 200 g 46%

1. Pour the sugar and water into a saucepan, place it on the stove and
cook the syrup until the sugar has dissolved. Take the saucepan off
the heat.

2. Add the slivered almonds to the hot syrup and stir with a spatula.
Let the almonds soak for 30 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 160 °C / 320 °F.

4. Drain the syrup and arrange the syrup-coated almonds on a


tray, lined with a silicone mat. Toast the nuts in the oven for about
10–15 minutes until golden brown.

5. Allow to cool down at room temperature.

6. Caramelized slivered almonds can be stored at room temperature


in a closed container for up to a month.
