• The crude substance for preparation of this wonderful


constitutional remedy is a liquid contained in “INK BAG” of
Cuttle Fish.
INTRODUCTION
Popularly known as the “Washer Woman’s remedy”. Sepia is
one of the greatest contribution to Homoeopathy, by Our
Master Dr.Hahnemann.
This brownish black substance is ejected out by the
fish from its gland to protect itself from any external
aggression. The crude substance for preparation of this
wonderful constitutional remedy is a liquid contained in “INK
BAG” of Cuttle Fish. The ink is capable of making the whole
water around fish completely dark so that enemy get
confused and it will lose sight so that fish escapes unhurt.
• The drug substance possesses the great potential power in
its inherent, dormant and latent state which when aroused
is capable of curing a variety of diseases, more particularly
in chronic in nature in the same way as the cuttle fish
protect itself from any dangerous enemy.
SPHERE OF ACTION

GUIDING SYMPTOMS

PHYSICAL GENERALS

i.e., aggravation.
4) Sepia is a chilly remedy from lack of vital heat, “chills so easily”; esp; in
case of c/c diseases.
5) “Faints easily” is a note of sepia weakness: after getting wet; from
extreme of heat& cold; riding carriage; kneeling at church.
6) Sensation of a ball in inner parts, during menses, pregnancy, lactation,
and all uterine complaints.
7) Pains extended from other parts to the back( rev - sabina) attended
with shuddering( with chillness Puls).
8) Erythism, flushes of heat from least motion, with anxitey&faintness,
perspiration all over whole body.
Constitution

PARTICULARS
HEAD : Vertigo, with sensation of something rolling round in head.
Coldness of the vertex with headache (Verat, heat of vertex-calc, graph,
sulph). Headache in occiput, worse in the morning > sweat, vomiting.
Headache in terrible shocks menstural nisus, with scanty flow. Stinging
pain from within outwards & upwards mostly left, or in forehead, with
nausea, vomiting.
NOSE : Thick, greenish discharge; thick plugs & crusts.
Yellowish saddle across nose. Prolonged inveterate catarrh
of the nose, green, & yellow crust are blown from nose.
Loss of taste & smell. Catarrh of the chest with thick,
tenacious, yellow expectoration, accompanied with a
violent cough, retching, gagging, violent prolonged retching,
vomiting; whooping cough; asthmatic cough with retching &
loss of urine.
COUGH : The cough is a violent one. Cough during
sleep(Lach., in irritable children Cham.), Tuberculosis. Quick
consumption after a suppresses gonorrhea; Spasmodic
cough in the evening until midnight; Holds the chest during
cough( Bry,sulph,Phos, Natr )
MOUTH : Tongue white. Taste salty, putrid. Tongue foul, but clears
during menses. Pain in teeth from 6pm till midnight; worse on lying.
STOMACH : Feeling of goneness; not relived by eating. [Carb.an.].
Nausea in morning before eating. Feeling of emptiness, all gone
sensation in the pit of stomach, relived by eating. Aversion to food,
particularly to meat & fat, to bread, esp. during pregnancy; to milk,
causes diarrhoea (Nat.carb). Tobacco dyspepsia. Burning in pit of
stomach. Longing for vinegar ,acids,& pickles. Everything tastes salty.

ABDOMEN : Flatulence ,with headache. Liver sore & painful;
relieved by lying on right side. Feeling of relaxation & bearing-down
in abdomen.
RECTUM : Bleeding at stool &fullness of rectum. Constipation ;
large , hard stools ; feeling of a ball in rectum ; cannot strain ; with
great tenesmus & pains shooting upwards. Almost constant oozing
from anus. Pains shoot up in rectum& vagina. Soft stool, brown,
round balls glued together with mucus. Soft stool, difficult.
URINARY : Red, adhesive, sand in urine. Involuntary urination,
during first sleep. Urine thick, very offensive, depositing a yellow or
pasty sediment, which sometimes adheres to the vessel like burnt
clay.
FEMALE : Pelvic organs relaxed. Bearing down pain in the uterus,
with a sense of lump or ball in the anus. Bearing down sensation as
if everything would escape through vulva.; must cross limbs to
prevent protrusion. Menses too late & scanty, irregular; early &
profuse; Sharp clutching pain. Yellowish leucorrhoea, with bearing
down in pelvic region. Prolapse of uterus & vagina. Morning
sickness during pregnancy. Complete absence of sexual desire.
RESIPRATORY : Paroxysms of spasmodic
cough,ending in gagging or vomiting. Dry, fatiguing
cough, appaerantely coming from stomach. Rotten-egg
taste with coughing. Dyspnoea;worse after sleep;
better,rapid motion. Cough in morning, with profuse
expectoration, tasting salty.Whooping-cough that drags
on. Cough excited by tickling in larynx or chest.
SKIN : Herpes circinatus in isolated spots. Itching; not relieved by
scratching; worse in bends of elbow & knees. Brown or reddish spots
on skin. Sweat on feet, worse on toes; intolerable odour. Ichthyosis
with offensive odour of skin. Ringworm-like eruption every spring.
NECK&BACK: Weakness in small of back. Pains extend into back.
Weakness & tried pain in small of back when walking.
EXTREMITIES : Restlessness in all limbs, twitching & jerking night
&day.Pain in heel. Coldness between shoulders.

cold bathing, after sleep.
