Station 1: Meet the narrator Nick!

1.) Nick was narrating the chapter. The passage shows that nick is tolerant, open-minded and a good
listener.

2.) Nick's family is very wealthy, "My family have been prominent, well-to-do people in this Middle
Western city for three generations". His uncle owns a wholesale hardware business after the Civil War.

Station 2: What's up with the eggs.

1.) West Egg is new money, the people who lived is west egg are people who worked hard to earn
money. It was described as the less famous among the two islands, "I lived at West Egg, the — well, the
less fashionable of the two". Families with inherited wealth live in the most fashionable East Egg or old
money, "Across the courtesy bay the white palaces of fashionable East Egg".

Station 3: Meet and Greet the characters.

1.) Daisy is a beautiful and charming woman, but she's also shallow and sardonic. "I hope she’ll be a
fool--that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” this passage explains her
carelessness and doesn't care about her child, she just thinks about money.
2.)He is racist because he quotes about the book "‘The Rise of the Colored Empires" by Goddard that
white people are superior to black people. It’s up to us, who are the dominant race, to watch out or
these other races will have control of things.” this is the perfect picture of Tom's absolute racism.

Station 4: Finally, The Great Gatsby.

1.) "Gatsby, who represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn." The passage shows that
nick admired Gatsby's abilities, that Gatsby is different among the rest.

2.) Based from Nick's commentary it looks like that Gatsby is going to die, "what foul dust floated in the
wake of his dreams".
