RAPID ANTIGEN TESTING

Antigen
An antigen is any substance that causes your immune system to produce
antibodies against it. This means your immune system does not recognize the
substance and is trying to fight it off.

An antigen may be a substance from the environment, such as chemicals,


bacteria, viruses, or pollen
Following items were available in the box.
1. Antigen testing device
2. Nasopharyngeal swab
3. Extraction vial containing buffer
4. extraction vial Cap
5. Sample collection device cover
Prior to the commencement of the COVID-19 antigen test, a
brief meeting was held to discuss the testing methodology.
Removed a nasopharyngeal swab from the pouch
Inserted swab in one of the patient’s nostrils until it
reaches the posterior nasopharynx and rotated 3-4 times
Peeled off the aluminum foil seal from the top of the
extraction vial containing the extraction buffer
Placed the swab in the extraction vial and rotated
vigorously several times
Removed the swab by rotating g against extraction vial
while squeezing the sides of the vial to release the liquid
from the swab, After that swab was safely discarded
Closed the vial with the provided cap and mixed
thoroughly by flicking the bottom of the tube
Squeezed the vial gently. Allow three drops of sample to
fall into the antigen device
The device was covered with after sample collection
Read the test result after 10 minutes
A post-meeting was held to discuss observations during
COVID-19 antigen testing
