Water Source: Well Water
The Problems:
Lupulus Beers is a micro brewery. Raw Water Existing Required
Items
It’s water source for the beer production process, Values Values Values
well water, contained high iron level which gave Fe (mg/L) 1 0.3 < 0.1
distinct color to the product. Also iron produces
bacteria Which may be hazardous to human health.
Therefore iron had to be removed to the minimum Site photos:
possible level.
The existing water treatment process included:
• Aeration
• Multimedia filtration using quartz sand
• Polishing resin to adsorb residual iron

Technical Solution:
The existing pre-treatment was replaced with the
following system:

• Aeration Process was not changed

• Multi Media Filtration process was modified by
changing quartz sand to Dryden Aqua Active Filter
Media (AFM®) Grade 1, at 12 meters/hour filtration
velocity
• Polishing resin process was not changed. The
frequency of replacement of the resin significantly
dropped.
