    The Poetics of Listening

    A poetry workshop by Jennifer Foerster for Orion, Fall 2022

    Exercise 17:

    - Go back to Eight-Week Journal and make a poem from your notes. Look for details,
    gems, surprises, images . . . anything that will open the door into a world. This is the
    opening into your poem.

    - Make a poem from your Apprentice Project. What have you learned from your studies?
    Perhaps you write a letter to your Apprentice.

    Note:

    In our last class, please have ready one to two poems ready to share – not for critique or
    discussion, just to share by reading aloud. If you would like the class to see the page/text, you
    can screenshare the poem. We would welcome you to preface your poems with anything you’d
    like to share about its process or how it came to be, even where you think it might be going if
    you feel it is still in revision mode.
