THE ADAM PROJECT (2022)

In the dystopian year 2050, a fighter pilot named Adam Reed steals a time machine jet to
escape to the year 2018 in order to save his wife, Laura Shane. In the process, he gets
injured and crash lands in the year 2022. The story then shifts to 12-year-old Adam in the
year 2022, whose father Louis died a year earlier. He is bullied at school, suspended for
fighting, and not close with his mother, Ellie. One night when he is home alone, he discovers
a future version of himself who is injured. The younger Adam refuses to believe the stranger
but the future Adam accidentally mentions the younger Adam's name and his dog's name,
Hawking. The younger Adam immediately realizes that the stranger in front of him is his
future self.

Due to safety features preventing him from flying due to his injuries, Adam has to bring his
younger self along by using his DNA to enter his jet. They are then attacked by Maya Sorian,
the leader of the dystopian world, and her assistant Christos, but are saved by Laura, who
faked her death and remained off the grid in an unknown location. After surviving the attack,
Laura and Adam realize that following Louis Reed's discovery of time travel and subsequent
death, Sorian had monopolized the discovery. During her visit to 2018, Laura learns that
Sorian frequently visits and advises her past self to secure her wealth and power in the
future. To protect her secret, Sorian orders Laura's assassination. Although Laura survives
the assassination attempt, the destruction of the time machine jet leaves her stranded in the
past.

In 2018, both Adams meet Louis Reed in an attempt to seek his help, but their father
refuses, fearing the effects on the timeline. That night, Sorian meets and warns her past self
about Adam. Meanwhile, both Adams share the same feelings about their father at a motel.
The next day, they set out to destroy the time machine. Upon arriving at Sorian
Technologies, they are attacked by Sorian's soldiers but are suddenly saved by Louis, who
has had a change of heart and agrees to help them. Louis reveals that destroying the
machine will not destroy time travel as long as Sorian has her algorithm with all the math and
limitations to control the process. Meanwhile, the 2050 Sorian captures the young Adam.

Although Adam and Louis erased the memory unit with the algorithm, both Sorians arrived
and threatened to shoot young Adam unless Louis surrendered the algorithm. Younger
Adam escaped from Sorian by pushing his gun, but a misplaced bullet damaged the seal
that held the electromagnetic field. Sorian's henchmen tried hard to stop them, but the old
Sorian threatened to kill Louis. Seeing no other way, Sorian shot Louis, but the bullet missed
and hit the younger Sorian, killing him and causing the older Sorian to disappear.

The three of them managed to escape the explosion and arrived home, where they made
peace by playing catch before the two Adams returned to their respective timelines. In 2022,
the younger Adam lived in a new timeline where his punishment never happened, he had let
go of his anger, and embraced his mother. The older Adam in 2050, much happier, met
Laura while attending flight training school, where Laura realized she had entered the wrong
building. After Adam offered to take her to her building, stating that he had time, they left
together.
