the father of the "city cars" that are so commonly used today. Our guest today is Alec Issigonis.

a little about yourself?

Alec Issigonis: I am British, born in Turkey on November 18th, 1906.I am an engineer and
automobile designer, with my greatest contribution to the industry being the "Morris Mini".

Entrevistador: How did you start your career in the automotive industry?

Alec Issigonis: I began my career in the automotive industry in the 1930s, when I worked for
Humber Limited. There, I worked on the development of high-end cars and learned a lot about car
design and engineering.

Entrevistador: When did you start thinking about designing a small and economical car like the
Mini?

Alec Issigonis: I started thinking about the Mini in the early 1950s, when I was working at Morris
Motors.

Entrevistador: What were the biggest challenges you faced when designing the Mini?

Alec Issigonis: The biggest challenge was achieving a compact and efficient design that still offered
high performance and good stability.

Alec Issigonis: I think the main contribution of the Mini was to demonstrate that a small and
