Procedure

Constructing Truth Table


1. Determine if the final result is a conjunction, disjunction,
or negation. Recall dominant connective and the use of
parenthesis.
2. Complete the columns under
a. the simple statements (P, Q,...)
b the connectives negation inside parenthesis
canny remaining statements and their negation
d. any remaining c connectives.
reaching the final column as determined in step 1.
Number the columns in the order they are completed and
highlight the column containing the final answer.

We constructed truth table for conjunction, disjunction, and negation. The


procedure given below will help you construct any truth table containing
compound statement.
